We adopted our pup in back in July 2020 and it was a great experience! Communication was very thorough and the process was very smooth with the foster contact and rescue. We couldn’t imagine our life without our dog, Finley. We will certainly adopt our next dog from here!!

We adopted Foxie (Lady Godiva) two and a half years ago and just recently adopted her son Harry (Nestle) who was returned 2 years after his first adoption. The process was thorough, but understandable because adoption should be a lifetime’s commitment. We appreciate how HWMAR cares for their animals and just wants the best for them. It took a little patience and time, but the two are never without each other. They are definitely home!
HWMAR is an amazing rescue.

We actually adopted our dog during the pandemic because my husband would be home teaching and he would be able to spend more time with the new puppy. We adopted Scotch because he was part of the back to school liter. We thought it was fitting because my husband is a teacher. The process was flawless. They made it so easy right from the beginning with the paperwork up to the time of pick up. The best part was that Scotch was living with his foster family and they had already begun crate training also potty trained him. We brought him home when he was only about 2.5 months old and now he’s going to be 2 this June. We are so glad we choose to adopt with HW&M. I highly recommend this place if anyone is looking to adopt.

We adopted our Charlie in December 2022. We knew he was heart worm positive. It has taken awhile to get the negative results we wanted but during that time Hoof, Woof was with us every step of the way. They paid for all vet visits, blood work, and medicine. They are a deeply caring organization and I would not hesitate recommending them to anyone.

We had a great experience adopting our puppy from HWMAR. The vetting process for adoption was rigorous but responsible. Our puppy's foster family was obviously very experienced with dogs, nurturing and provided good guidance in her early development and interaction with other dogs. HWMAR creates opportunities to follow the adopted dogs and offers support for professional training. We highly recommend HWMAR.

Update: Our adopted puppy passed in 2023 at 3 years old. We went back to adopt another dog from HWMAR and it was much more difficult to adopt. We ended up adopting from another rescue with much less red tape.

Adopted a puppy from HWMAR. They where communicative every step of the application process through signing the adoption papers. The foster mom and adoption coordinator helped us decide which puppy would be best for our family. Even after the adoption the foster mom was interested in seeing updates on our puppy.

I called to ask about resources for re homing 2 cats and the volunteer I spoke to in the cat section was very rude and I asked to speak to someone else and she continued to yell at me telling me it’s my fault there so crowded when all I wanted was resources to help these cats. I let her know I was recording this interaction because it was very very unprofessional and she hangs up on me. This place really needs to get there act together because these animals aren’t gonna find loving homes unless we work together towards the same goal.
