I was a patient at Highland Park for physical therapy. The facility itself is clean and comfortable. The overall staff are polite and attentive. The physical therapy staff was great. They are knowledgeable
and took each patients needs and worked with them improving their current condition. One thing that impressed me, they spend the whole time allotted with the patient. The facility has fun activities daily. The staff has an overall concern for the patient and will see to their care.

Highland Park. Over the past 4 months each and every one of you has become like family to me. From Kelly at the front always welcoming me with a smile, to staff, and even residents. My mom lived with me for the past 4 years, during which we got a COPD and CHF diagnosis, to a recent ankle break and surgery, we made the gut wrenching decision to place her on a permanent basis. To Julie, thank you for saying yes! Kyle on B wing is like my second mom. I have laughed with her,and I have cried with her. From nursing staff Chelsea, Lisa, Brenda, Tanya, Jessica, to CNA staff Sherry, Josh, Brandon, Ashley (both the lady in red and the Gilmore girls fan), Caroline, Tyler, to the amazing PT staff of Dial, Boyd, Ed and Tammy and each and every person in between. To administration, matinence, activities and even Charlie the pup who we get to see all the time. To even some residents that we have gotten close with. Each and every one of you has become like my second family. Through the most difficult time in my life as well as my moms you have helped us with such grace and compassion. This my family and I will NEVER forget. Yes maybe the place is dated….but it is clean, it is welcoming, and although we know what this means for residents, they somehow make it comfortable and each person shows that they really truly care. Not just about the resident but the families as well. We were going to have my mom moved to the city, but she refused to leave, she has fallen in love with your hearts just as I have. You all have seen us at our best and our worst and loved us just the same. I know you don’t hear this enough but thank you so much for all you do. You make an inescapable situation seem like maybe it’s not so bad. If I could give each of you a hug without crying I would, but I’d be a blubbering mess. So again, thank you from the bottom
Of our hearts. This is a situation we always dread, something we never want to accept could happen, but you make it much easier to stand the storm.

Edit: I am not sure why the response involved what it did. I know you all have many residents. But my mom is still alive…..

My dad has been at Highland Park Rehab for 6 weeks getting IV antibiotics. There has not been one person that wasn’t just lovely in this facility. What a great team and they honestly care about your loved one. I would absolutely recommend them if you are looking for either a rehab or a nursing facility. Lots of activities every day and the food was pretty good. Although a little dated, it really is a great place because of the kind, funny, and caring people.

The best care and support you could ask for. The physical therapy there was recommended by my surgeon, and for good reason, they are the best! Pulled me through a difficult situation and actually made it fun.
My only complaint is the food. The kitchen is currently outsourced and is terrible.

My brother is currently getting physical therapy here after a fall. He has definitely gotten stronger and says the PT and OT are great. The staff are wonderful. Example: I asked whether it was possible to set up a wireless headphone to his TV so he could listen without disturbing his room mate. While it wasn’t possible to set up a wireless headphone, they rigged up a wired connection to the TV right to my brother’s bedside. Thanks folks, for doing that!

I am very impressed and grateful to the staff and administration of the facility. From my first phone to Alicia looking for guidance and assistance getting my sister-in-law admitted 4 years ago to every visit, I've encountered very caring and helpful staff. I'm always kept aware of my sister-in-laws status and care. On my recent visit I arrived just as my sister-in-law was going to be served lunch. I elected to wait in the lobby until she finished. Many staff members stopped to chat and even offered to get me lunch. I'm also very impressed on the cleanliness of the facility. Thank you again to everyone at Highland Park.
