This place was one of the worst Hampton inns that I have ever stayed at. The tile floors in the bathroom were loose and cracked. It was a complete hazard for myself and my kids to shower in there. There was dust and dirt all over things like the desk, and shower. It looked like poop stains on the floor. There was no designated area to take my dogs to the bathroom and the outside area they do have is covered by these little prickly things that got all over my dogs paws. There was no poop bags or any throw away stations. When we complained to the front they just apologized but it was very insincere, they were more interested in gossiping about other guests than actually taking care of the guests. Our room was right above the speaker that plays music at the front. It was so loud all night we didn’t sleep. Also, be aware that this is right next to a truck stop so it’s always loud and filled with truckers. Please take your kids and dogs somewhere else, It has to be better than here.

The manager of this dump should be fired. Obviously, they don't have any regard or care for any real standards. The good first is all staff was friendly. The bad is this hotel is very dirty. The elevator floors looked like they haven't been mopped with a clean mop in years. Dirt was swept into all 4 corners. The rooms were covered in dust in some areas, such as headboards, towel/toilet paper holder, bedside table. Cotton bedspread was wrinkled like it had been wadded up. During the night at 2:3am we awoken by the stomping of many feet above us. After 10 minutes of it, I attempted to call front desk only to find cord was cut in two. The breakfast was pitiful. No water, fruit, yogurt, or milk for cereal (although they had cereal), The girl running it was sweet & did keep it cleaned up. The big moment was when checking out. The girl at desk was vaping. She tried to hide it but it was obvious as she blew it out. Never again.

Definitely not Hilton quality maybe Hilton price but not quality.
We stayed here in our way to Colorado after driving 8 hours. We got in the room and after few minutes of laying down in bed I realized my wife, my 15mo boy and me were FULL FULL OF dog/cat hair. Nasty 🤢🤢🤢
We do have animals at home. But this? At Hampton Hotel, we asked immediately to get another room.
Front desk was just great and friendly.
But the room are just disgusting. We got another room, this one with bad smell and dirty hanging from the ceiling

I realize there are a great many negative reviews, but none of these were our experience. The room and sheets were clean and well kept. There was not an overwhelming smell. The oven for breakfast was broken so I did not get to experience a hot breakfast, but the continental well stocked. Staff was not unfriendly. Within walking distance from a nice little Mexican restaurant. Overall, a good experience.

Checked in Sunday.... Should've read the reviews. But I was very tired of going somewhere else. My youngest son got sick from the pool. I saw that it was cool water and the hot tub not working, had to chase them out of water when I walked in and noticed. But too late as my, 3 kiddos were in pool already. They were sad to get out. After a 12 hr drive. They wanted to swim. Didn't expect this from a name brand hotel. Again, I should've read the reviews. It's my fault, but I'm definitely letting freimd know drive the extra 2 hrs and stay in Amarillo or Witchia Falls, whichever way they heading.

Last 2 times we decided to stay in a Hampton Inn and Suites hotel we have been somewhat disappointed. The room was ok but had old furniture. It was also located by a door that led to the parking lot in the back. We could hear the door slamming from time to time people going in and out of the hotel. Morning breakfast was weak with mediocre offerings and coffee. After viewing we decided to eat breakfast elsewhere. Hit or miss, Hampton Inn and Suites was the place to be, maybe still is but this hotel in Childress, Texas is definitely a miss hotel.

We knew this was a 3star hotel so we weren’t expecting much. Front desk was friendly and smiling. The room was a typical Hampton inn room - no issues there especially for the low cost. Didn’t see a way to adjust fridge temp-wish it was a touch colder.

My complaint is NO COFFEE! When we arrived around midnight I noticed the coffee bar had nothing. And other Hamptons have a hot chocolate bar set up currently too-nothing there either. I figured it was late. But woke up this morning and there was no coffee or hot water. Was told machine broke and there’s coffee maker in room. Go downstairs and there’s 1 bagel and 3 slices of bread. Plenty of eggs, no potatoes. Waffle making working and smelled great. No oatmeal, only grits that obviously no one was touching. No pastries. Only apples. No real variety at all. Management needs to work on this. Woman running kitchen hanging in the back on her phone. Maybe she should be figuring out how to get coffee and hot water going. Run to Walmart next door and buy a cheap coffee machine and electric kettle. Lord knows where the next town is where we can get coffee.
