My father was recently admitted in to Guggenheimer for rehab therapy after a fall. The facility was always clean in appearance and smell when I visited. It is conveniently located in the city, right off the expressway which made it easy to visit frequently. Everyone was very friendly as I would consistently be greeted by smiling employees as I walked the halls. The staff were very helpful and informative from the social worker Cristin, to Stephanie the business office manager and Bartlett, the occupational therapist. The care team were attentive and polite. I was pleased with his care during his stay and would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Very pleased with the care my family member received at this facility. I could rest easy knowing he was being well taken care of here. Everyone I came in contact with were a delight. The building is well maintained and it always smelled clean when I visited. The food served was above average in comparison to other facilities we have had experience with and the staff delivering the daily meals were always cheerful, adding a bright spot in the patient’s day.

They are beyond short staffed here, it’s crazy! My mother has waited hours for her pain pills, rung multiple times for the bedpan, begged for someone to help with the strange rash she has developed since arriving, watched the meager staff run ragged trying to keep up with the needs of the patients. It’s pathetic.
The nurses and therapists they do have are great, they are trying so hard! but it’s not enough to bail this sinking ship.

Also, while I understand that the facilities are slated for refurbishment, the current situation is nothing like the website photos. Peeling paint, mismatched furniture, broken cabinets… not nice.
More disturbing is the obvious lack of maintenance.
In my mother’s room the toilet has continued to leak all over the floor. No one has repaired this despite it being reported to staff. Water seeping out from under a toilet is not only disgusting it is also a slipping hazard. And it’s an easy plumbing fix. So why not fix it?
Add to this hazard is the air quality. Personally I have very sensitive lungs (I assume many of the patients here are in a similar situation)
I was in the room literally 15 minutes when I couldn’t stop coughing. It didn’t take long to discover the culprit: the wall unit HVAC was filthy! The filters were completely clogged.
Patient’s families should not have to do maintenance, but I did.

Why aren’t they scheduling this important maintenance?

To the person in charge: please do not take in any more patients until you can actually take care of them properly.
Running a skeleton crew is not helping anyone….just making more skeletons

I want to acknowledge the remarkable staff at Guggenheimer Health & Rehab Center for the extraordinary care they delivered to my mom Nancy Fitzgerald. Although nursing homes often face challenges and backlash, I can confidently say that any concerns we had about mom's care were promptly and compassionately resolved. We appreciate the unwavering dedication of every staff member who contributed to our mom's well-being during her time there, our family is grateful she was treated with dignity and kindness during her stay.

I recently had the opportunity to visit guggenheimer I and I was genuinely impressed by the outstanding care and services they provide. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere was evident. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and designed with the comfort of residents in mind. Seem to be doing a remodel really excited to see the outcome of that.

The staff at Guggenheimer deserves special recognition. Each member of the team, from caregivers to nurses, goes above and beyond to ensure that residents feel valued and respected. They are not only skilled in their roles but also compassionate and attentive, fostering genuine connections with the residents. It was heartwarming to see how they engage with each individual, catering to their unique needs and preferences.

The rehabilitation services available are top-notch. The therapists are knowledgeable and work diligently to provide personalized programs that help residents regain their strength and mobility. I’ve heard numerous success stories from families who have seen their loved ones make significant progress.

Additionally, the activities offered at Guggenheimer are diverse and engaging. Whether it's exercise classes, arts and crafts, or social events, there’s always something for residents to participate in, promoting both physical and mental well-being.

Overall, I would highly recommend Guggenheimer to anyone seeking a skilled nursing facility that prioritizes quality care, compassion, and a supportive community. Thank you, Guggenheimer for the great work you do!

This place is amazing you get amazing care the nurses and cna love the residents they treat us like family this place is like a home. The administration is amazing they have an open door policy with us. The activity department does an amazing job to have activities for everyone. Meal here are fabulous. The business office is always eager to help you

I can’t believe a place like Guggenheimer is actually allowed to exist. It is extremely dirty and unkept. The doors, windows, blinds, cabinets, air vents, are all filthy. There are literally mice there especially in patient rooms on the third floor. The food is deplorable. And unfortunately they are very, very short handed with staff. As you can imagine then the elderly are left wet in their diapers for hours at a time, not pulled up in the bed, have no sweet interactions with staff, are not brought out of their rooms or given any but the very bare minimum of attention and care. It is an extremely sad and heartbreaking place. The administration of this place should be brought under question and made to answer for all of their grave neglect. Shame on them for permitting such a facility to function as it does. I couldn’t be more disappointed with this place and wish no one had to be there. There are a few kind nurses and CNAs all of whom are overworked and under appreciated by the administration.

If I could give this facility 0 stars I would. How they have received 5 stars on any review is beyond me. Save yourself the heart ache and trouble and DO NOT allow your loved one to step foot in this place. The place is disgusting and unkept. The staff is rude and don’t care about the patients. The social workers have absolutely no clue how to do their job or even want to for that matter. I could write a book. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else, ANYWHERE else would be better.
