Fantastic animal shelter for those interested in adopting a furry pet friend. We adopted a poodle. Very helpful and will answer all questions to the best of their ability with the information they have for the animals.

I agree with Hope who less than a year ago commented and describes almost exactly why my family and I are also very unhappy with Granny Rose.

“Granny Rose makes it extremely hard to adopt. I understand wanting to make sure the animals go to a good home, but with the shelter always being full their requirements are extremely unnecessary. Their questionnaire is long and asks too personal of questions. - their hiring process is garbage.

Save your money and adopt from somewhere better!!!!!”

Very well said! And we followed her advice and did adopt elsewhere.

Did the meet and greet as required. Met all the requirements for the dog. Was told to come back for another visit and to adopt as it was too late to start the adoption process that day. The day we came back they were wishy washy on us taking the dog home. Blamed it on us having a small child. ALL AFTER PREPING US TO TAKE THE DOG HOME! After talking to others that have tried adopting from them, they all said they had similar experiences. Best advice is go somewhere else.

We welcomed our Family Friend Lou aka Luigi over 8 years ago. A lab, wolfhound mix from Granny Rose Shelter. He was truly an exceptional dog and travelled everywhere with me in my Jeep. He will always be in our Hearts, -o|||||||o-! Thank you ?

I thought this was going to be a good experience for my family. Unfortunately the way I was treated felt very rude. I was dismissed, I have a home that’s owned and a fenced in back yard. For some reason though me and my family were completely dismissed. The attitude I was given was uncalled for. We were simply trying to find a dog who needed a loving home. And the adoption process shouldn’t be this long. And I was also lied to. They said the dog we were looking at had over 12 applicants. Only for my friend to call and be told the dog only had two. Completely unprofessional and sad for the animals that have to endure this. I understand needing to vet out the bad people so the animals aren’t abused and or neglected. I have a clean record and have never harmed and or neglect animals my whole life. They could do better and should work on improving their bed side manners with people in general.

Got my last dog at granny rose 10 years ago. Stopped by this afternoon and was told you had to have an application to even see the dogs they have. What idiot came up with that policy. Are they trying to have their animals adopted or just keep them as pets until they die.

The folks working here are true angels. The facility is super clean and the animals are very well taken care of. Friendly and informative staff. I highly recommend taking a look if you are considering adopting. Thank you Granny Rose.
