We recently started going to Good Friends Animal Hospital after moving to Champaign last year and we couldn’t be happier or more grateful! A lot of vets seem very dog focused. So, as an owner of 3 cats, I was ecstatic to see they are a Cat Friendly Practice.

All of the staff we’ve encountered have been nothing but friendly, welcoming, and comforting. One of our cats is special needs and another recently had to go through a medical ordeal. During every visit and call, I always felt that my questions were answered and our anxieties were put to ease. Dr. Maggie is amazing and we are appreciative of all the care she’s provided our cats! Good Friends Animal Hospital is a great place for all animal care and I can’t recommend them enough!

Adding an update- I suddenly have a medically complicated dog (not pictured). Dr. Norris and staff have done nothing but try to help her to get answers. They've been upfront about costs, diagnosis, and prognosis. They've been compassionate to us and cooperative with the hospital. Ive personally witnessed how invested Dr. Norris is to the best well being of our pets. We don't always get the news we want, but they all certainly feel it with us. Takes a special person to be in this field for sure.

Good Friends? More like Besties! I was very much impressed with the promptness we were seen as a non urgent/new patient. I appreciated the time the Dr. took and I did not feel rushed. Treatment options were given with no pressure for anything else. I found everything to be quite affordable too. I had a paid monthy plan at our last Vet clinic and still ended up paying quit a bit per visit there. My pup had a minor skin surgery performed. The pre and post instructions were easy to understand. I felt it was very thoughtful to include a special food for post care/nausea. I'll be switching my entire pack of dogs to Besties... Good Friends.

Also- although my pups surgery was necessary to prevent more injury GF could corner the market on pet face lifts! (Just kidding)! Impeccable work. before/after pics provided.

After taking my cat to various other vets around the area I eventually took her here. The vet here who was working on my cat Edna found that she had a birth defect that could not be fixed. They were very thoughtful and comforting through the entire process. They made sure Edna was comfortable and felt loved until the very end.

Recently started bringing my new cat here and have had only positive experiences! Everyone has been really kind, gentle with my cat & had patient & informative answers to any questions I've had. They were also very upfront about pricing and explaining what every option was with onboarding my previously stray cat.

I first came in touch with Good Friends through a good friend who recommended them to us when our old lab was nearing the end of his struggle with cancer. They gave him excellent treatment, to the end.
We care for two dogs now and take them both to Good Friends. When our chihuahua broke a declaw and was in pain, they saw him on very short notice, trimmed just the broken part of the claw so it would grow back naturally, and even trimmed the rest of his claws. Amazing!

I had a really good experience bringing one of my cats here for surgery. The first doctor we saw did an amazing job, and since then, I’ve brought my other cat in too, which went just fine. There have been a few minor things here and there, but I get that every business has its off days, especially post-COVID. I just wish I felt more comfortable asking questions without feeling dismissed or like I’m being a hassle. My cats mean everything to me, and I just want to fully understand what’s going on with their care. Besides that, they’re great at getting you in quickly, and today’s doctor really helped me out by saving me from a late fee.

Good Friends is the nicest, most understanding animal hospital i have ever experienced. They are so accommodating in a way that makes their customers feel heard and comfortable. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my animals. 🙂
