We have been taking our pets to Golden Retreat Kennels for many years. However, during our pets most recent stay August 4-August 7, 2023, our dogs came back dirty despite having paid for grooming. Also, I personally measured out our dogs food for their stay. To my disappointment, the same bag of dog food came back half full. It is unfortunate that the service and care have substantially deteriorated at Golden Retreat Kennels not to mention the kennel looking shabbier. Pet owners would be advised to seek care elsewhere if you truly care about your pets.

My dogs LOVE staying at Golden Retreat Kennels. They observe as I pack all the necessities for their stay and learned to recognize the commute to the kennels because they get more excited with each mile that I drive closer. For the last three years, they spend about a week each summer. I know they are given excellent care by the attentive, knowledgeable, well-trained, and courteous staff. After I pick them up, they are all completely relaxed and quiet for the drive home because they had expended all their energy playing with their friends everyday. Golden Retreat Kennels is very clean and well-maintained. In my opinion, the pricing for their services is also very reasonable. My opinion is based on the fact that years ago, I tried several other boarding facilities that charged more for their services and weren’t half as good as Golden Retreat Kennels. This place has my vote and that of my fur babies to be HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..

Amazing place! Last minute found out a friend couldn’t watch our dogs and we were frantic about where to go and we were leaving that day. This place had room were more than accommodating, they had many services, which was amazing. We had them there for 5 days and they took care of our fur babies. When we picked them up they were happy, they loved the owners and it was such a piece of mind and got their nails trimmed as well.(usually places will say that the dogs are too hyper or aggressive, during nail trimming),(which they aren’t). They gave us a run down of how they did.

I had never boarded my rescue pup prior to coming to Golden Retreat Kennels and could not be happier about the care and service they provide when I have to travel back home to the east coast. The experiences is professional and personal, I have never had to worry if my dog was in good care. We love Golden Retreat Kennel!

I just want to let everyone know, who may plan in the future on using a place to board their dogs. That I highly recommend you take your pet, to Golden Retreat Kennels! Greg, Christina and Ray were amazing! Our Ally had never been away from home in the 4 years we have had her, as soon as I walked into this place. I knew automatically that she was going to be in good hands. The day we picked her up, she had been groomed and had been well taken care of. Her disposition said it all! She was the same happy energetic dog, she always is. Thanks again, Greg, Christina and Ray. We will definitely be back, and you will be highly recommend. Thank you, Lore Kennedy and Jerry Harrison.

My pups have had a few visits there now. The first drop off was with them being a bit tentative. The last time we dropped off they were literally dragging us to the door. They have obviously enjoyed their stays. As a pet owner/parent it is such a relief to see how they react. Golden Kennels is like a vacation for them. I have zero guilt leaving them knowing how well they are being cared for!
