I have been using El Camino Veterinary since 2014. My dog, Sir William Cornelius the first, was treated for multiple issues on seperate occasions and misdiagnosed multiple times Those misdiagnosis were accompanied by astounding fees at Atascadero Pet hospital. I spoke with an excellent vet out of the area and she directed me to Dr Leton (spelling?) at el camino vet. She diagnosed Willy with Cushing’s syndrome and I can say that was 100% the accurate diagnosis. After 2 years of continued symptoms that perfectly aligned with the syndrome, he did end up needing to be put down at only 6 years old. Although it was a heartbreaking outcome, they absolutely did the best they could. We made almost weekly visits his last few months but Dr Leton, Dr Ramos, all of the vet techs and support staff were so wonderful, supportive and helpful. They loved Willy and treated him so well (even letting him stay in the vets office when he was feeling very stressed and overly expressing that stress as he often did -he was quite the vocal pitty-Rhodesian cross…. ) Cushing’s syndrome is a complex disease and and in learning and reading about it in depth, I am very confident in all the care and treatments they provided. The vets often reached out to specialists all over the country to support his care. I cannot say enough good things about El Camino Vet. A few weeks after Willy passed, another amazing dog came into my life. Unknown to me when he came home, he had valley fever. So I continued my regular visits at El Camino Vet with Lt. Leroy Conrad Drooly-face. Again, he and I were given great care through months of treatments. I love that the vets at this facility are so knowledgeable and helped educate me on my dogs diagnosis as well as provide great directions for care so that I didn’t feel helpless. The time they gave to educate was & is so appreciated. When I expressed how helpless I felt at home when I could see how bad Leroy was feeling sick, Dr Leton gave me directions on making doggy super foods at home to help Leroy feel better. Whether it helped him or not, it helped me. It was powerful advice, helping me feel like I was doing the best I could for him. I don’t think you could ask for better- a vet that provides care like this to their animal patients and owner clients. Love, love , love this team at El Camino Veterinary Hospital.

We've been going to El Camino Veterinary hospital for a long time now. I've been very happy and impressed with their care there. Recently we had to have one of our precious kitties put down due to illness causing poor quality of life and pain. When we called they got us in immediately. We were of course very sad and crying. They have a special area for this which was very comforting. I was so very impressed with their empathy and kindness in this matter. They were so kind and caring to our little kitty and to us making it so much easier to go through such a sad time. I couldn't be more thankful to have such wonderful people to care for our animals and us.

I have been taking my pets here for years (about 15)- dogs, cats, and a bunny. Unfortunately, I will not be back. I think we had never had an issue before because our pets have been really low maintenance and have never required medication, procedures, etc. The office was fine for yearly check ups and vaccines. When our almost 14 year old family dog started needing some help, the service could not have been worse. For weeks we couldn't get a call back on how much aspirin to give our dog (who had been a patient there since he was 1 1/2). We then got through and the second veterinarian who took over from the male veterinarian who never called us back told me she would send in a prescription to Costco- she did not. Then they told us we could pick up meds from them the next morning. They knew he was taking aspirin and we had to ask, is this medication okay with aspirin. The answer was no. Then after a week off of aspirin, he started the new meds and had what we believe was a stroke 3 days later. When we called the veterinarian as it was clear that it was time to put him down, there response was "We can't get him in today." No empathy. No we are sorry- try this other veterinarian or pet hospital. Nothing. Unfortunately, they abandoned our dog when he actually needed care and made an already difficult time of losing our elderly dog more difficult. Very disappointed in our experience. I will not be trusting them with the care of any future pets and especially dogs that our family may get.

Dr. Ramos, Dr. Leton & Dr. Tarica are helping me with my sweet border collie puppy Sugar. She has a congenital heart defect from birth. All of the staff and doctors are fantastic, patient, caring, knowledgeable and the prices are very affordable. I love that they are so dedicated even during our hot and smokey summer. The best thing is they offer curbside service during these crazy Corona times. They are so warm and professional my puppy even loves coming here!
Thanks a million El Camino Vet Hospital!

Thank you to Doctor Robinson and the whole team at El Camino for being so amazing. My grandparent's kitten (10 months) needed orthopedic surgery and I got a strong recommendation from various sources to go to Doctor Robinson. We got in within two weeks, cat went home the next day, and healing has been a breeze! Every assistant and receptionist there that I interacted with was kind and courteous. Doctor Robinson herself has great bedside manner and is an amazing surgeon. We are lucky to have her in the area!

This place has gotten very expensive, I’ve brought my dog in twice for an ear hematoma, the first time was a couple months ago, $380. It came back this week and I brought her back, they charged $410 this time and we didn’t even get home before the hematoma was back again.
And now my dog is covered with fleas. I’ve been using this veterinary clinic for over 10 years and in the past few years, things have gotten way more expensive and the quality of services has declined. I would not recommend them anymore.

I have taken my pets here for over a decade and can't sing their praises loud enough! One of my dogs has been a frequent visitor as he has some chronic issues and Dr. Laton has been amazing. Dr. Ramos will always have a special place in my heart for being able to help us transition our oldest pack member to the Rainbow Bridge from the comfort of home (this was during covid).
