Not my vet (I live in Mattoon), but I adopted a kitten from Effingham Humane Society and they use this vet. I had a question regarding my new kitty’s rabies shot and needed to call them. The lady that answered the phone was super nice and happily answered my question. So I guess I just wanted to say thank you for being kind and helpful. Great customer service!

I know it's been years and I am just now leaving a review but today I had a vet appointment over at another clinic and that remind me that I need to put in a review because the veterinarian that I saw in the past, where I go now is also the veterinarian that worked over here at Keller drive, but I had told him when I saw him where I go now about this incident and nothing has gotten done. But my story is that I had a dog back in 2019 Dr Chad something I'm sorry I don't know his last name but he was the one who diagnosed my dog with diabetes he told me everything that I needed to know to take care of my dog and my dog's health was increasing doing really well my dog was healthy and happy and then I took him in for a checkup after being diagnosed cuz you had to have frequently checkups. Well I took him in for my checkup appointment and come to find out Chad was not there I don't know where he went I didn't know anything about him but I had gotten a female veterinarian and she told me that Chad told me wrong I was supposed to do the opposite of what Chad told me well once I stopped doing what he told me I started doing what she had told me and my dog's health declined he gotten way worse. I kept telling the staff he won't eat or even get up to do anything and the vet told me to bring him in for a few days to keep an eye on him and every time that I had gotten him back they told me there's nothing wrong with him. Well the last few days that I left them there I got him back on the third day 2 hours after getting him back he has a seizure right in front of me I called the emergency vet she came in and she said there was nothing they can do so right then there I had to put my dog down. They then charge me 300 to $400 just to get his ashes back they didn't charge me for the emergency vet to come in and put him down but everything else they charged me very expensively. So that is my story with them I will never take any of my dogs to the one on Keller drive. Chad on the other hand I highly recommend him he's been there since my dog that I took in and he's really good with my other dogs I do not want my dogs to be seen by any other vet.

Would have gave a 5 star review if they would not have absolutely refused my request multiple times to fax their prescriptions for my dogs advantage multi to chewy for me, so I had to hassle with mailing them to chewy that made it take much longer to get my fur babies their needed meds! I even asked for them to have Dr Chad Ely to call me, they said they would and he never did nor return my request calls. So I changed over to a different local vet that would happily fax to chewy for me. This is sad because other than that they had been a wonderful vet clinic.

Effingham Veterinary Clinic has been there for us and our fur family. From assisting in complicated bovine birthing to the dog getting hit to treatment after a rescuea dog tested positive for heart worms. They are always friendly, understanding and helpful with your pets. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

We had an emergency on Sunday and I called the emergency number. Dr. Gratz returned my call and agreed to meet at the Keller office. He was polite and kind to my son and I and Sophie , son's dog. Soon he had Sophie sedated and assessed her wounds. Stitches were put in and IM antibiotic given and something to help her wake up. We arrived at 610pm and by a little after 7pm we were on our way home. We are very grateful Dr. Gratz took time out of his Sunday evening at home to help 2 frantic people and an injured dog get the help she needed.

Beyond grateful for the care and service they showed for my cat. Rufus is 15 years old, I've had him since he was weened. I took him in to see Dr Ely because he was having constipation issues. Dr Ely found that one of his kidneys was enlarged, arranged to ultrasound it and remove it, saving his life from cancer. All of the appointments were arranged quickly, everyone answered all of my questions and took great care of my best bud. Dr Ely was so great with Rufus (who generally doesn't like strangers or men) I cannot express how thankful I am that they are helping me keep my boy around for as long as possible.
