My wife and I adopted our newest furry family member from DCAS. Staff were friendly, patient, and informative. We were never felt pressured or rushed during our 30 minute appointment.

My experience with DCAS has been nothing but wonderful. From the moment I submitted the online application they have been extremely communicative and helpful. I originally planned on adopting one kitten but ended up scheduling a meet and greet with a bonded pair of 3-month old kittens from the same litter. We were given plenty of time to get to know them during the meet and greet without any pressure or awkwardness from the staff. One of the kittens i met was a “bashful buddy” and even though he was hiding under a stool the whole time, I couldn’t bear the thought of separating them. Once I decided to adopt the pair, the “checkout” process was simple yet very informative. All the animals from this shelter comes microchipped and fully vaccinated (according to their age) with the full paperwork. I was very impressed at how thorough their record keeping was and how knowledgeable and empathetic the staff was. The kittens have been thriving since they got home and the “bashful buddy” turned out to be the most loving, cuddly, and clingy little guy! I am utterly in love with them. I highly recommend adopting from DCAS.

My wife and I adopted a Husky/Corso mix from DuPage Animal Services back in March 2024. He was too young to get his shots so staff advised we return after a couple of months which happened without issues. Staff were otherwise fantastic through-out the entire process. Facilities were clean despite the surrounding grounds being under construction.

First and foremost, we adopted an adorable, goofy, and overall amazing cat from this place. And we love her. But there were some issues. She had an upper respiratory infection that we were told she was recovered from when we adopted her. This was not the case. It took several rounds of antibiotics and an expensive culture test to find the right antibiotic and clear the infection. Our vet also said she was spayed too early given her age and the infection. I do give props to the shelter for supplying us with a refill of her previous antibiotic, but the antibiotic was unfortunately not enough to clear the infection. We also were told the cat we originally were interested in could not be adopted to us unless we were willing to adopted another kitten she was bonded with, named Sprite. Fast forward to a month and a half later when she was adopted out, without Sprite. It did make us wonder if some animals are intentionally reserved for fosters' friends/family. Again, we absolutely adore the cat we adopted and, regardless of any hiccups, are happy with how everything turned out.

We are so grateful for DuPage County Animal Services! Back in 2022, we adopted our mini-rex bunny Willow from them. They were so flexible when we went home to "get the house ready for her and pick her up in a few days" but then decided to turn right around and adopt her the same day. They stayed a little later so we could finish the adoption process. The facilities were clean and the service was awesome. Our bunny has been healthy and happy and we have DuPage CAS along with their AMAZING foster parents to thank for that. She moved into the house as a friendly, socialized, fearless, and POTTY-TRAINED (!) little lady! We could not be happier, and we have them to thank for the sweet little member of the family. If you are looking to adopt, please give DuPage CAS a serious look!

I adopted a German Shepherd from DuPage Animal Shelter. I was impressed with their due diligence in the background process and medical care. They even requested that my Wife and our dog Apollo come out for a meet and greet with our new dog, Bella. Through the shelter Bella has found a new home and good health. She has become a great addition to Our Family. Side note, the adoption fee was beyond reasonable, so if you have the means please donate extra. I did, it was a small price to pay for the happiness that. Bella has brought to our home.

My fiancé and I adopted a rabbit named Ted from them in May and the process was quick, amazing, and easy! I recommend Amy as she was so helpful through the entire process and made it a breeze. Ted is the calmest, most sociable rabbit ever who just loves his pets. We’d also like to thank his foster dad as of how much work he clearly put in. The drive was far, but worth every penny.
