Soo happy to be apart of Dogtopia Blackhawk. All the staff are very attentive and loving towards all the doggies that came in. My little girl Rumor is very shy at first but opens up when she feels comfortable and the staff made her very comfy for her 2 day boarding stay. We will for sure be back for the daycare and boarding needs. I only hope the cameras are more user-friendly for our future stays. Thanks again!

I wanted to give an update since my dog Stella has been going to daycare here for a few months now. I take her once a week for the whole day and she is always excited to arrive and is so tired when I pick her up. People complain about the price, but it's market rate price for all doggy day cares and they have cameras that you can watch to see what your doggo is up to at any time. If you ever feel guilty for being too tired after work to take your dog on a long deserved walk, I recommend taking them to doggy day care even if it's for just one day a week like we do. They also have special days where they celebrate dog birthdays, holidays, obstacle courses and art. If you participate in any of the events it's an extra fee, but never over $5 and it goes towards sponsoring a trained guide dog for someone in need. The staff have always been friendly and they adore my dog just as much as I do. I trust that she is in good hands there, thank you to all of the staff members who love our dogs while we are away. You are truly appreciated

Love Dogtopia! Love the flexibility in scheduling and the ability to request daycare on short notice. The staff are all so friendly & the manager Sarah is just the best. It’s clear she works hard to ensure Dogtopia customers- dog parents & the dogs themselves- are having a great experience! Our puppy has been going for daycare weekly for over 6 months & we board two of our dogs there periodically. It’s a very positive and welcoming environment.

This place is extremely unorganized. I began having discussions with them on 9/5 about boarding my two dogs. I have used a different boarding facility attached to my vet for almost 20 years. Unfortunately, my vet is having staffing issues and couldn't take my dogs for an upcoming trip.

I was told on 9/5 by Dogtopia that they needed to check with management on whether or not they'll take my dog who is on seizure medication because they have a list of approved medications they'll administer. On that same day they asked for dogs' vaccine records, which were up to date, except my senior dog needs an influenza booster. I promptly sent the records within minutes of the request. My vet opted not to give my senior one since there is no canine influenza in Northern California.

It took me following up with Dogtopia multiple times to find out about if my dog's medication is on the approved list. I did not find out until after business hours on September 13th that the medication is fine. I told them in response to that email that I would get my dog's booster this week. I promptly made an appointment this afternoon for my dog. At the same time, Dogtopia asked me to schedule the meet and greet. I scheduled it for tomorrow morning (I'm leaving town in three days). I just got a call after 7 PM on Thursday that they've decided they can't board my dog because the booster won't be at least two weeks in her system.

This all could have been handled nearly two weeks ago, and now I'm stuck with nowhere to put my dog while I go out of town on a business trip that I can't cancel.

I can't speak to the actual boarding itself because I have no experience with it. But this lack of organization and disrespect for a potential client's time (I was honest from the get-go that I needed time to find boarding if they couldn't do it), leaves me feeling like this is a poorly run business.

My dog is always SO excited to go to Dogtopia! I love that I can always get her in last minute through the use of the app. I also love that she is always greeted with excitement when we arrive. I feel like she is well cared for while there. Also, it’s fun to be able to watch her on the webcam!
