My cat had a huge mass growing out of his hind leg and it was erupting and bleeding at times. It needed to be removed and biopsied ASAP. I live in the SF bay area and was unable to get into a vet's office in my area in a reasonable time. The 2020 SIP (shelter in place ordinance) and the amount of people that had adopted animals during that time and had not had their animals seen by a vet that entire year, caused a huge backlog and getting a timely appointment in the Bay Area to get into see a Vet was impossible. After the COVID vaccination started the roll out, people where taking their pets to the vet in masses. So I found a vet in my parent's little town and I was able to get an appointment and scheduled a surgery ASAP at the Dixon Vet clinic. He did a great job. I docked the clinic 1 star because I was not instructed or given a cone for my cat to wear post op. I had to figure that out on my own when he was excessively licking the area. Additionally, the pain meds they gave my cat is generally well accepted by cats and they didn't tell me that. They are like treats. I had to struggle for him to take them until I Googled the best way to get him to take the meds and I found that out. After that, I would just give him the pill in his food without having to traumatize him by forcing it down his throat. That said, my cat came out of it just fine and compared to SF Bay area prices this procedure was reasonable. Still pricey but not exorbitant. Thank you for saving my fur ball. Here are some before surgery and after after surgery pics. Good news, the biopsy came back as not malignant! He's a healthy and spry 10+ year old.

I also want to add that the clinic is COVID safe. They come out to your car and get your pet. Then call you up to the examine room window where you will be able to interact with the vet from the outside though a screened window as he evaluates your animal.

We had our puppy spayed with Dr. Timm this morning. Everything went smoothly. The clinic contacted me by phone a couple of times while she was there with questions regarding my requests. They are very kind & professional. I wouldn't not hesitate to recommend Dixon Vet Clinic.

If you have a Guinea pig come here ?!! I drove 35 mins to get here out of Sacramento and it was absolutely worth it. The doctor was amazing, he wasn’t all talk and no action like most doctors he started treating my Guinea pig right away. Most places wanted to charge me over $1000 to remove my Guinea pigs abscess , this doctor did it in under 15 min and it cost me a fraction of what I was expecting. This doctor doesn’t care about the money he truly is doing it because he loves animals ? A million thanks to this wonderful office ? Highly recommend

My pet was admitted to a vet hospital after this establishment said he was just getting old. He has a 106° fever and a prostate AND urinary track infection . I highly recommend you don't take your pet here

This was only place that accepted new pets when the pandemic started, German Shepard needed her rabies shot at end of April, other places that would do it wanted 300 just for first visit plus shot cost. He charged under 100 for two shots. Now her and my cat have a good vet. Looking into health care for pet.

We have had truly excellent experience with the care of our pets at the Dixon Veterinary Clinic. We've taken both our cat and dog to them for care, and have been very pleased and reassured by the quality of care we've received. I wouldn't take my pet 'kids' anywhere else.
