We have only been to desert vet a handful of times for our girls but my baby Whiskey here is a bigger girl who's scared and reactive of everything. People are usually intimidated by her size and aggressive bark so we have had to spend the extra money to take her to an office where she'll spend time in a room waiting in comparison to a shot clinic for her yearly shots. Although it can be pricey, everyone here is always so helpful and understanding with her care. They're so patient and treat her like any other pup. She's my baby, my family member and so I appreciate when anyone gives her the extra care and attention she so desperately needs.

Our first visit with Dr. Haugo was when she was an intern with Dr. Land. Our now 49 year old son’s 4-H rabbit project had snuffles, and Doc’s words were to the effect “Let’s see what we can do to get this rabbit to the fair.”
One of the dogs we have now is, to say the least, “special needs”. Dr. Haugo has calmly and professionally worked through referrals and medications to help him through the 7 years we’ve had him. I would go nowhere else.

I’m disappointed to share my recent experience with Dessert Veterinary Clinic. My recent experience was marred by unprofessional and rude behavior from ONE staff member. This complaint is not about the company itself and not about all the staff members just the one female Vet tech who will not be named in this post.

I reached out to the clinic with genuine concerns about my dog’s health, specifically regarding some newly discovered nodules. My intention was to request a report to better understand my pet’s condition. Unfortunately, instead of receiving the assistance I needed, I encountered a dismissive and unhelpful response.

The situation was further exacerbated by the fact that I had to seek care elsewhere due to the consistent unavailability of veterinarians at Dessert Veterinary Clinic. This was not a decision made lightly but one driven by necessity. Unfortunately, with today's economy there is not enough vets' period in any clinic.

My concerns are not new; I’ve previously faced similar issues with rudeness from this certain staff member. Given the substantial amount of money my family and I invest in our pets’ care, we expect a higher standard of professionalism and empathy.

The Vet was new to me, and Wonderful. You deserve 5 stars, but we were very disgusted with the quote of $1600.00 to $2200.00 to pull one cracked tooth.
