The best place to take your dog! We switched to them a little over a year ago and wish we had been here always. The care they take is amazing. They go above and beyond, ask questions others don't/didn't and want the best for your pet.
Sadly we had to put our 13+ year old husky/lab down last night and we were all overwhelmed by the care and compassion everyone showed throughout the entire process. Can't recommend the vets/staff enough.

This animal hospital changed the records as the owner of my dog, when my ex, who had only been listed as the emergency contact, called and told them I was no longer the owner. They refused to send me my dog’s records, for weeks, and when they finally did send the vaccine records, it had my ex listed as the owner. Without contacting me for any of this or validation of the claims.I am unable to review the notes on my dog’s record or know anything else. It was a dramatic and reprehensible display of unprofessionalism from an animal hospital and team of providers that I had entrusted with the care of my animal.
I had seen other reviews and found out I am not the only male that has had sexism against them from Dr. Jill. Save some headaches and find a facility that does not allow their personal issues to dissuade them from providing you service.

Not only did my animal get the care she needed, I also felt completely validated in a time of emotional vulnerability, which was an experience that I will never forget. My senior chihuahua (Rye) was diagnosed by another vet with a serious disease via blood test. I won’t get into the details, but I knew I had to find another vet ASAP. A friend referred us to Dana Point Animal Hospital and I called to see if they could take me that day. They told me to come immediately, and I was instantly treated with respect, compassion and kindness—everything that the other vet was lacking.

Despite trying everything we could within our means, Rye’s little body could not make it through and we had to make the toughest decision of our lives. I feel at peace knowing that I brought Rye to this vet and they truly did everything they could for our little guy. Dr. French and team (Stef, Berkeley) are truly Rye’s angels. Thank you for everything. When we’re ready, we’ll be back with a new fur baby.

I've taken my dog and two cats to this clinic for several issues a few times, but the last time was for a general wellness checkup with
Dr. Pursely. Each of them had not had a wellness exam or any type of blood work in almost 2 years, and I just wanted to make sure they were healthy. The vet just looked at their teeth and listened to their heart. When I asked about blood work, Dr. Pursely asked me why I would want it. I said I wanted to make sure they were healthy and everything was good, just like it's recommended for people to get routine yearly blood work. She said animals don't need she doesn't recommend blood work unless there seems to be a problem. I said I wanted to prevent a problem if possible by catching it before it were to get bad. She acted like I was stupid and ridiculous for saying these things. Oh, and she also told me to stop feeding my cats any type of meat as a treat. Yeah, don't feed carnivores meat. Great advice.

We have been bringing our pugs here for the last couple of years and love Golden Lantern Animal Hospital! The staff is always super friendly and the doctors are very knowledgeable. They are also really good at getting you in quickly if you need to get your animal in to see the doctor. I also love the eye exams they give to our dogs using the canine eye chart lol! Also if you find a prescription you need somewhere else that is cheaper they have no problems writing it for you so you can send it in to save some money! Thanks for taking such good care of our pugs!

Can't thank Dana Point Animal Hospital enough for their amazing work, and truly amazing doctor and staff! We are from out of town and we were camping near by when our dog Oakley seemed to have stepped on something. We panicked as we are 4 hours from home and we needed a vet to check him out. They were great with getting us in and helping our fur baby out! Dr. French and assistant Berkeley were so caring and knowledgeable and really handled getting Oakley taken care of. Highly recommend!! Thank you for not only taking care of our puppy dog but for calming us down as well. 10/10 overall service!

Golden Lantern Animal Hospital was a wonderful experience.

The whole team is absolutely friendly.

We went there with our dog with leg pain, and they treated him perfectly and gave us all the explanations about his problem.

As long as we have a pet, we will always go to the Golden Lantern Hospital.
