Companion Animal Hospital has always been my go to. They have a wonderful front staff that always remember our animals names and are incredibly friendly with treats and pets. They never have us wait out in the waiting area, we always immediately go to a room. The vets take their time to explain what they think is the best course of action and explain cost BEFORE they do anything unnecessary. The only reason I give them 4 instead of 5 star is because they are a little pricey, but for the care our animals get it can be completely worth it.

My Labrador loves to come for his visits. His tail wags nonstop when we pull up to the hospital. The staff is always welcoming and answers all my questions/concerns. Five star all around!

We were heartbroken when we realized that the hamster we got for our daughter from a major pet store was already sick. Not having the heart to simply return her to the store, I searched for a clinic that would be willing to treat her when others wouldn’t. I was grateful to have found this clinic—the staff and doctor took the case seriously and were incredibly warm and kind. My large snake, Harley, got snake mites and I was in need of an exotic vet. I take my cats and dog to CAH LZ, so they recommended Dr. Morton at CAH Vernon Hills.
Harley was less than thrilled to be examined and was severely backed up as well. Dr. Morton and Jovanna handled her with such care and aplomb, even when Harley tried to wrap Dr. Morton's arm. I really appreciated how calm and professional they both were despite a very angry, hissing, large snake telling them to back off.
Dr. Morton went above and beyond to research the best method of treatment for Harley and my other snake at home. She provided additional reading resources and gave clear instructions on administering the treatment. I was so grateful that she suggested we DON'T try injections, haha.
Thank you so much to Dr. Morton & Jovanna! I also picked up some cool art that Dr. Morton creates. She donates the profits to Paisley Paws charity, which I thought was especially cool.

We had a great experience with our hamster! The receptionist, tech, and vet were all so compassionate and responsive when we told them he needed an emergency teeth filing. So helpful and friendly. Loving and kind with our little animal. I was thrilled and so grateful.

I recently had to take my chinchilla, Spooky, to the vet after he unfortunately broke his arm, and I cannot express how grateful I am for the incredible care we received. Dr. Morton was absolutely fabulous! From the moment we walked in, everyone was kind and professional. Dr. Morton took the time to thoroughly examine Spooky. Her expertise and calm demeanor instantly put me at ease.

I also want to highlight the amazing veterinary technician, Kayla who assisted us, she was just as wonderful. I feel like technicians often don’t get enough recognition, but they truly are the backbone of the practice. She was warm, attentive, and showed just as much compassion as Dr. Morton, which really made the experience feel personal and caring.

Both Dr. Morton and Kayla made us feel so comfortable, and it was clear how much they love what they do. They make a great team! My sweet Spooky even adored them, which speaks volumes. I can’t thank them enough for their kindness, expertise, and the genuine care they showed. I’m so grateful for the relief they’ve brought to my Spooky, and I will definitely be returning for any future care he needs!
