I brought my dogs to this groomer a few times and it was fine. I mostly brought them to the San Lorenzo location last time I brought my dogs to the Castro Valley location a little over a month ago and when I picked them up, my bigger dog was acting all wrong. My normally energetic border collie mix was out of sorts and not at all playful. And then I noticed that it wasn't just that his tail wasn't wagging like normal but it was just hanging there and looked wrong. I tried to gently touch it to see what was wrong and he yelped. I texted Claudia and she replied that nothing happened with my dog and that he probably has fleas because they saw him chewing on his tail in the crate after he was groomed.
I was really worried and I hadn't seen anything like it so the next morning when it wasn't any better I took him to the vet. They told me that dogs sometimes get injuries at the groomer when they're held by the tail. I asked my vet about the chewing on the tail and he said that dogs will do that if their tale is injured and he did not see any fleas on my dog, I picked up some flea medicine anyway. The vet said that the sprain was consistent with the tail being pulled quite hard. Fortunately, with some rest and pain medication the vet said it should heal completely.
When I contacted Claudia to let her know about the vet visit, there was no response. No apology. No offer to pay the vet bill. Not even an offer for a free next grooming visit. Nothing. I understand these things sometimes happen especially if there is maybe a less experienced and very determined groomer combined with an energetic or feisty animal. But these people are supposed to be professionals and we entrust our family members to them. Now, reading these other reviews of people seeing them yank dogs around by the tail, I feel like they must just be under trained and not realize the injuries that they can cause dogs. Very unprofessional and I can't see myself entrusting my dogs to them again.

I absolutely love Claudia's Coiffeur Le Petite!!! Customer service is top notch and the groomers do a fantastic job with my dog, Beauty. They always make her feel confortable and welcome. <3

People are nice and do my dogs nails effortlessly. They are not open on Saturday even though they say they are on the business page.

Brought in my two small short hair dogs for wash, nail trim, and expression at 8 a.m. I got a call 4 hours later stating the dogs were done. Picked them up, nails were not trim and both dogs were acting very strange!! A few days later I could tell neither one of them were expressed. In addition, one of them had a cut on her leg. I have no idea how it happened. All I can say is please be cautious if you take your dog to this place.

I'm providing this review based on my mother's comments. My mother has bringing her dogs to this location for 8 years. Is the prices of a full package for a full sized dog appeared to be in line with the market. The dog always comes back happy so I know hes being treated well.

I got a referral to bring my senior dog to this location for a cleaning. The person doing the check in was super friendly and kind. However, when arriving to pick up my animal I noticed one of the cleaners holding a dog up by the tail. It looked very abusive, and was clear the dog was not comfortable with the situation.

This will be the last time I go to this establishment.

I don't like the new people who work there. She didn't trim my dog's nails and cut my dog under his arm pit and didn't even tell me. I told her my dog has back problems and she was pulling my dogs back leg. Thankfully I was watching so I went in and told her he has back problems you can't do that someone has to hold him. My dog got a skin infection for his paws not being cleaning and I paid $70 plus I tipped her $10. I am never coming here and will be complaining directly to Claudia.
