When I hired Mr. Eric Schmidt as my divorce attorney I was going through a very difficult period of my life. Eric was very thorough at navigating the legal intricacies of a complicated contested divorce process as we collected mountain of required documentation, and he landed very favorable temporary terms on my behalf. At the same time Eric worked with me leaving a door open for a very remote chance of reconciliation. As we moved ahead with the legal proceedings for several months, things evolved to the point that we had the divorce case dismissed and the family was back together.

Although this is not the typical divorce case outcome, I wanted to emphasize the human aspect of Eric and his team during the whole process. I was not just a customer in the pipeline of a court system, I was a human being that was treated with empathy and compassion, in addition to being provided with excellent legal advice. Keeping a family together is not always the best outcome but, in this case, it worked for the best of all of us. Thank you very much Eric.

This attorney has questionable ethics, and her priority is finding opportunities to produce more bills. Michelle has a very strong over powering personality and at times I felt as though I was being bullied into decisions which suited her pocket. No compassion or true concern for her client. Avoid!

I was optimistic because I was referred to Michelle and because of the positive reviews. I was excited to work with an all-female team. However, throughout the process, there was constant anxiety from lack of communication and yet I was charged for whatever communication was happening between attorneys that I was not privy to. It was clear that my ex’s attorney was keeping him looped in. I’d send emails with questions and not hear back. I’d upload documentation for disclosure early but was then told I did it incorrectly close to the actual deadline.

Michelle was empowering in my initial consultation. Once I hired her and finally would get to talk to Michelle, she said things like, “I have multiple cases right now that are like emergency surgeries, and yours is not an emergency. I’ve worked with women who are older than you, have been married longer, and have children. At least you didn’t have a kid… But if you want one, you don’t need a man to do that. You’re still young.” Statements like these were dismissive and invalidating. Divorce is painful enough. Elena, the senior paralegal, was the most communicative, and I appreciate her for that.
