This place is absolutely Amazing!! My Mom has been here 1 week and the progress she has made is remarkable. Every single person on her team is amazing. They are caring, gentle, kind and so much more. I spend many hours there a day, and every day they amaze me. It makes me feel so much better when I leave knowing that she is being taken care of as if it was their family member.

This is a horrible place to admit a family member. The employees attitudes pretty much show how they will treat your family member. Their attitude is as if they don't care about your concerns nor do or are they interested in doing their job right. I reported this facility to DADS and this facility was issued multiple tags. There were multiple complaints DADS investigated at the same time as my complaint. My son passed away here from I beleive pretty much neglect. It didn't matter that I called on a daily basis and visited on my days off to make sure the nurses were taking care of my son because they were still not giving him his medication as prescribed and medications not given at all, they did what they wanted anyway which was found that my son was not given the proper care nor given all medications. The director of nurses Deborah and one of the RN Tammy will tell you what you want to hear but do not do their jobs. If you are looking to place your family member in this facility expect for your family member to be neglected of their medical needs and be prepared for your family members death. These employees should not be working in the medical field, that is for sure. These nurses should have their licenses revoked.

Scabes with over 1000 bites 3 times, preventive hospital visits due to neglect and understaffed. Finally the facility "dumped" mom at SAMMC for no medical reason and would not admit her back. Called every so call agency and no one had done anything. The administrator told the state agency " sue me now or sue me later ". There is no other place for mom to go and they know it. Casa Rio is the worst but the other location is even worse. If mom was a dog dumped on the street the world would come to her rescue. This is how we treat our elderly people but there will be a day that the people who mistreated my mom WILL have to pay and answer for their actions. And that includes all the government that sits behind the desk and allow it to happen with no recourse. I don't want to wait till she dies before something is done to protect our parents. My mom loved it there, the therapy department was A+.

In order for me to write I had to click on a star they deserve NO STARS. I would NOT recommend this facility to no family. They let your love ones die a slow painful death. They neglect them when no ones looking. You report to state they show up. Facility is good and ready for presentation because everything they do wrong they sweep it under the rug when their not looking. So state doesn't not see the truth. They are good and hiding what they really do. THEY RETALIATE AGAINST YOUR ONE ONES. Pay attention here. They are good for nothing. They don't care about your love ones. They let them die. They are not professional nurses and wound care nurses. They enjoy seeing your love ones suffer!

lAs M Davis stated below...be prepared.....I just recently had my Grandmother pass away there. They will lie to you like they did us and say " during therapy she was smiling and awake !" then respiratory tells us no response to her for two days. We knew smthg wasnt right since she had not responded to us for two days like before.We asked nurse about medication because it usually knocked her down for a day or so and they said " do you want us to give her smthg.? " did not understand what we were asking him. ...next day she codes blue and fire/ems rushed to facility. The only reason I think she went to ER was so that she would not be reported as deceased at their facility.I saw my Grandma's eyes and I can tell you she was gone already.Please consider other options ....we had few since she had traechomity.

Please do not bring your loved ones to this place.They can change their name as many times as they want but it's always going to be the same. Now I know why families sued this facility. they don't care for the residents they leave them in pain, dirty, hungry.It's Horrible! All they want is money, they neglect your loved ones.They are mean, rude and insensitive. There are so of many negative situations that i saw to be able say about this facility it would take forever. so please let me WARN you now DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVE ONES HERE! if this place is the only option and if ur loved one needs care with wounds.Please do not, I repeat DO NOT allow Valerie to take care of them. She will neglect them and if you try to help her she will retaliate and ignore the wounds completely and stop by whenever she feels like. This place should be shut down!

Hope you don't ever get nurse, Martina! She is absolutely flippant when it comes to getting needed medications to her patients. Rude. Could care less. A patient can need a med for and HOUR and she will continue to take her time and will only give if she is pushed. Otherwise- she doesn't seem to think those poor residents need anything! - I am an outside nurse that visited the facility and saw this first hand.
