You will never regret adopting a dog. That being said, this is a low-kill base shelter for people who have abandoned their beloved animals. They are in a remote area on base and deserve more funding for the dogs. Animal neglect is a systemic societal problem. Ask how you can help them help the dogs!! Lots of different breeds and ages here. Adopt don’t shop.

Our dog from the shelter was adopted October 2019. He is still apart of our family even though whoever turned him over to the shelter..... who wore USMC camies abused him...(we know because when my husband or I would be in our camies our dog would be terrified) also he was scared of men in general. Now, 3 years later, being apart of a real family he is no longer afraid of men or camies. I'm glad we came to the base shelter to save him and give him the life he deserved. I just thought about it today and decided I would leave his story here. -mud

My dogs dug out of my yard and when I got home I freaked out searching for them. Fortunately someone called animal control and notified me so I was able to pick them up the next day. Honesty at first I was pretty upset because I thought they would charge an arm and a leg but the price wasn’t unreasonable. They even helped me out by helping me get 2 XL kennels for free. Was honestly a very eye opening experience and I think everyone should try to be a bit nicer to them. They are awesome people

The least helpful staff possible. Couldn't give me any form of timeline regarding giving my dog to them then when asked what would happen for dogs that will be nervous around other dogs the guy on the phone told me they'd probably just kill her. Unacceptable service and a complete disregard for people's situations or emotional connection to animals.

65 years old and the first time I've ever been to an animal shelter. I found the experience depressing. Looking at the faces of those poor dogs. Previously owned, you could tell some of them just wanted to come home with you. I should clarify, I was just visiting and not there for adoption.
But I was impressed with the facility. It was pleasant and clean. The cats and dogs are obviously well taken care of. Happy to know that the military even takes the time and effort to care for these unfortunate animals. I only hope they all get adopted.
