I have been employed at Barclays for three years, I am currently an activity aide. The staff in the activity department go above and beyond what they are required to do. Our boss Shakia always makes every resident feel welcomed and included. The relationship between other staff members and between staff to residents is comparable to a family. The environment here is always welcoming, from the different departments including: Dietary, housekeeping, nursing, and Administration, they always make sure everyone is taken care of, especially the residents here. Overall working for Barclays has been fun and an amazing experience.

My Mom, who was a resident at Barclays Since August 2021, passed away in June 2024. She was on Hospice at Barclays (with Samaritan, but I learned later that they have a good working relationship with vitality) for about 10 days. The staff was very attentive and caring. They considered Mom family and she loved them too. I was always confident that she received the best care during her time as a resident at Barclays. The Recreation team is so caring and The admin staff also promptly addressed any concerns I may have had along the way. Thank you for caring.

This is the second time I've been here at Barclays Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. The nurses here are are truly incredible, no matter how busy things get, they are always calm, pleasant, and caring. The CNAs are always on their toes, and juggle the needs and wants of the patients and residents with admirable skill, and they make all of us (patients and residents) feel like we're home. The Administer is hands-on and proactive. He stops to check-in on patients, and listens to any issues or ideas they may have. He addresses those issues quickly. He is a total professional and is friendly and kind.
Lastly, let me tell you about the Physical Therapy department: I am a below-the knee amputee (right leg). I lost the leg in 2006, and although I've been to more physical therapists than I can count, not one was able to teach me how to balance so I walked leaning to one side, it was difficult going up and down steps and I tired easily. I explained to the therapists what I hoped to accomplish and from day one when they began working with me, I began feeling stronger and learned what I needed to do in order to adjust my balance to compensate for my missing limb. When it became necessary to go into a rehab center this time, I asked to go to Barclays. I'm happy to be back, and I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a true 5-Star facility for themself or a family member.

The activities department go above and beyond, they are courteous and respectful. The residents are always well informed of the activities that are planned. Shakia is a awesome leader as director and the activities aides Selina, Courtney, Maiya, Eric will stop by your room to see how your doing which is commendable. They all work very well together which in turn makes it a well oiled department. The Pt, Ot, and speech therapy is a A+.

My father has been receiving care at Barclay’s for several months. It is so difficult to make the decision to leave a loved one in someone else’s care full time. However, he needs the rehabilitation and my mother, Marge, and I cannot say enough how happy we are that he is surrounded by such a compassionate and knowledgeable team! The facility is very well maintained, and the communication is top notch! They make everything so easy for my mother to navigate with his insurance, and they always have all the time you need to discuss anything. We are so thankful for you and your team!

My Mom has been in Long Term Care at Barclays for 2 1/2 yrs now. It’s a difficult adjustment at first but she is doing great. I’m very satisfied with Mom’s care. The staff cares, from the receptionists to the nurses, aides , culinary, and especially Recreation! Shakia and her staff do a great job with all of the activities, and keeping the residents happy. Joel, the administrator and the Nursing staff , always promptly address any concerns or questions I may have. Two things I would like to see improved is better water pressure in the shower rooms, and the addition of a community room or area that is designed more like a living room at home.

I just wanted to share my reasoning for my 5 star review of the Barclays Rehabilitation Center. The care I received from the staff at this facility was extraordinary. I entered the facility on May 9th with a complicated knee replacement. My first surgery was successful but somehow got infected. After surgery to remove the knee and receive a medicine induced cement block in the knee I was placed in another facility. After infusions I was sent home and having no clear answers for a solution I sought another solution and was given new hope with a complicated 14 hour successful surgery. After a short hospital stay I was referred to Barclays and their team. Led by Director of Nursing Ed Tilton I received excellent care for the next three months. Ed’s staff is second to none. My knee required daily treatment and Ed and his staff made sure that I received it. I would also like to acknowledge the physical therapy staff. Even though I could not put weight on the knee for the first month I received physical therapy every day. They were incredible and once I could they got me up and walking. Facility Director Joel Tietelbaum stopped in to check on me practically every day and saw that I received anything I needed. In closing I would like to thank everyone there once again and I highly recommend this wonderful facility.

This place has not gone through any renovations. I was there on Monday to see my mother. She was transferred from the hospital to get physical therapy there. Don't believe any recent positive reviews posted. I had my mom transferred to another facility the following day due to neglected care.
