I have visited since I moved here.y African Grey and I have always been greeted and treated with respect and care. My Grey gets her trims with perfection and love from Mandy...always. I buy my bird food here all the time and add toys periodically, too.

When there are other customers in the building, I've noticed that they, too, are treated very well in a friendship and courteous way.

I also always notice how the boarded birds are treated. I cannot say anything higher about the staff there as they have my highest recommendation.

I trust Mandy with my Grey 100%.

Me and my boyfriend just stopped by and saw Mandy. We just came to look and potentially get some information regarding adoption and she was beyond helpful. She really cares about all the birds that are there and was very informative about the process. I highly recommend her, she was amazing.

We went to the old location years ago. It was bright, clean, and the employees were very helpful. The location it is in now looks like a burned out barn. It's dark, dirty, and smells. The cages aren't very clean, and the food/water doesn't look fresh. Some of the product on the shelf was expired. Mandy is unfriendly at best. Ask too many questions and you're stupid. Keep talking and she talks over you. Honestly, if she's this unhappy running a rescue, she should shut the place down. She may have had passion for birds at one time, now the whole thing seems like an inconvenience. Just be nice.

I do NOT own any birds and in fact, have never held one. I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the rescue with my best friend that has a 20yr old African Grey that was getting groomed. From the moment we entered, the energy was warm, and welcoming. I do NOT have enough words to describe the angelic nature of Mandi. Watching her handle the birds, as she grooms right in front of you, is just surreal to watch. The birds trust her and feel her energy, it's utterly amazing to see! Then, I had the pleasure of wondering around the brids that were for adoption. I was not in the room long, before I realized there was absolutely no ill smell of urine or feces. Of all the cages, they were ALL spotless! Of course, I fell in love with this little gal that cannot be adopted! I LOVE EVERYTHING this rescue does and stands for! I will be coming to visit Ms. Murphy! Well done Mandi and crew!!!!!!

Amazing experience. My wife and I went in there today and fell in love with a bird the owner had there. The customer service was amazing the owner sat with us the whole time we spent with the bird and every bird we saw were in great health and very well taken care of and clearly handled often. 100% I recommend this rescue to those looking and I plan on volunteering my time to help out on the weekends

I’ve had a fantastic experience at AZ Exotic Bird Rescue. I started off volunteering in order to get more comfortable with bigger birds and then adopted my beautiful Amazon. Mandy is super knowledgeable and a bird expert. Please consider shopping there for your bird seed and bird supplies!

It's been a minute since I've visited, however I'm here to counter all the 1 star reviews. I used to have birds and stumbled upon this rescue when they were in their old location and this location was still Rage Cycle. Each time I've visited whether the old location or its' current - staff, including Mandy, were always polite and accommodating. I'm not buying, I'm just visiting to see all the birds that are up for adoption or being boarded for people out of town. Sometime you gotta have your bird fix, and they have always encouraged it... you know, visiting, petting and playing with some of the birds.

So - unsure what all the hate is about. Rudeness has never been my experience with this business. That is all - thanks for the read 🙂

Mandy is amazing with the birds. We have rescued 3 birds from here two sun conures (already bonded) and a pineapple green cheek conure. The store has a wide selection of toys and food for all birds and priced well. We also get five birds groomed here and Mandy is great with them. Thank you Mandy!
