Beautiful place. Better to go in the morning before noon. Ground is uneven so watch your step. Short walk up though constant incline. Otherwise, place is majestic. Saw deer.

Secret gem!
I had no idea that in addition to rescuing local wildlife they do free tours on the weekend!

Very informative. Enjoyed seeing the different bowels and felines. And I didn’t realize possums are so cute.

Huge volunteer foot print so support however you can!

I will be coming back as often as I can manage, I enjoyed finding the blue trail head to see Mountain Lake and snapping photos of the greenery and nature.

Literally was the only place who took this injured turtle in!!! You have to call ahead though, but they will give you all the information you need to keep them safe until they get an opening slot. Please donate anything you can $5 $10 $20, anything helps as it takes $81 just to take care of 1 rescued animal! They run off donations and are so incredibly important to our wildlife community. Thank you staff for all you do.

5 Stars because: I thoroughly enjoyed the 1 o’clock tour, they are truly concerned about the animals in their care and they provide a much-needed service. This is a rescue and rehab facility. It is only open to the public on Saturday and Sunday for a 1 PM tour. Staff here are friendly, informative and very professional. The staff are very comfortable and confident handling the animals and the animals in turn are very comfortable and relaxed around them. I did not need their services, so I cannot comment on that. I was there for the tour and I enjoyed it.

Awesome hidden gem in Lithonia, Ga. I attended the A.W.A.R.E. animal presentation on a Saturday. The presentation was informative and lasted for about a hour. My only complaint is that I wasn't allowed to hold or touch any of the allowable animals that did not fall under Georgia wildlife code. Nonetheless, it was a great family friendly presentation and is a worthy non-profit that needs support from the community.
