We were dog sitting for our son & daughter-in -laws Golden Retriever this week and he came down with a serious GI infection requiring the need for an emergency visit. They live in Boston and were out of the country which left us having to find somewhere locally to bring him on short notice. After calling several clinics who told me they were either too busy or had overly complicated policies requiring establishing an account with a large deposit etc. I called Avon Veterinary Emergency and I’m sure glad we did. They were so kind and made it so easy and they accommodated us right away. Ashley, the Vet Tech met us at the door and could not be nicer & more helpful. Dr. Heather Plavech saw us promptly and diagnosed and treated Tito with fluids and antibiotics which turned things around within hours. The facility is clean and modern and the care could not have been better. I would highly recommend them to anyone with a pet who needs compassionate, prompt & professional care! Thanks !

We have utilized AVER a few times, and each time has been a positive experience. This last time we brought our dog here, no wait, the staff and particularly the veterinarian were kind, compassionate and incredibly patient with our family of five as we made that always heartbreaking but necessary decision to say goodbye to him. I have been to several other emergency vets in the area and I will always try and choose this one first.

Our Labradoodle was seen by AVER today after being lethargic with mysterious pain for the past 24 hours. We initially took him to a large vet ER in Middletown last night which was fine but did not properly diagnose him. Today we were seen by Dr. Heather Pavlech and she promptly did bloodwork and X-rays with results within 1.5-2 hours for our guy. She was able to rule out what was initially suspected by the vet last night and give us a course of treatment without putting him through extra tests. We are extremely grateful to find AVER and very happy to have our guy have answers for our guy!

This place took my cat right in. The doctor was fantastic, compassionate and thorough. However, my cat is an indoor/outdoor cat. They clipped my cats nails, some too short where there’s residual blood, without asking for my consent OR even telling me after. At the BARE MINIMUM, considering my cat goes outside, I would expect them to tell me they clipped her nails. What would have happened if I didn’t notice and let my cat outside? My cat’s defense abilities were stripped from her and no one told me. AT LEAST TELL ME SO I DONT LET MY CAT OUTSIDE!!!

when no one else was willing to take us and my kitty was in critical condition and had to be rushed to the vet, they took us right away. unfortunately she passed as soon as they took her in but i’ve never been treated with such respect and understanding at a veterinary office. unfortunate that they are emergency only because i would take the rest of my kitties here in a heartbeat but thank you guys for being so kind and warm in such a hard time ❤️

My dog jumped from a high place over the weekend I called my local vet and they said they were booked out to January and they recommended this place and I'm so glad they did my little guy broke his paw/leg and they treated him with respect and us with respect even when my dog tore off his splint they put a new one on. I highly recommend this place it's a true gem for animals and humans alike!!

Great place. Very clean and welcoming. Great staff. They were attentive and kind. They gave us good explanations to follow up with our cats. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely will be our go-to for pet emergencies. Thank you so much for the help!

I had a great experience here. The dr was great. He was attentive, patient and listened to my concerns and explained everything in detail. He didn’t push any extra testing that was not necessary. This was my best experience with a veterinary clinic by far! Thank you!
