Animal House Shelter is an amazing organization and the staff are very knowledgeable about their animals. Last month, I took home Addison who has adjusted so well to her new life in Chicago! So far, she adores snuggling with her mom, playing with her neighbor dogs, and hanging out with her human friends. I am amazed at Addie’s resilience and the way her loving nature shines through despite the stress and change she has experienced.

Addie is truly the best dog I could ever ask for and I am SO grateful for Animal House Shelter. Thank you x1000 for helping me find Addie!

After many applications and inquiries, I can confirm animal house is by far the best shelter to work with. Emails were answered in a timely fashion, and the process was straightforward.

Initially the dog I applied for got adopted (disappointing), but they confirmed my application was viable for 6 months. I checked back in periodically, and that’s how I met my girl. I called for an appointment which I could do same day. they brought her out right away and we had a little walk and play session. There wasn’t any pressure or hovering, we stayed out with her as long as we wanted. Check out was fast and they went over her records, adoption guidance, and medical information. We went home that night and the rest is history! Bayou (lucy) is now queen of the house and claimant to 2/3 the queen sized bed. I’ll definitely go back to animal house shelter to adopt in the future!

Two years ago we adopted a chihuahua from them. They were so helpful in finding the dog that would fit in with our other fur baby. She is now fully spoiled and we are so grateful for this place helping us find the family member we never knew we were missing!

Really nice people that took the time to walk me through the dogs I was interested in seeing and gave plenty of time for me to visit with each dog and make my decision. The facility was nice, the dogs seemed well taken care of, and the staff seemed to really care about the animals. My new girl Luna is such a sweetheart! I would definitely recommend adopting from this shelter.

We adopted a dog this year, and we hit the jackpot! When we got him, he was a year and a half old, and he is the most loveable dog. We have two boys, 11 and 13 years old, and he loves them as much as they love him. About five years earlier, we got a cat from the Animal House Shelter, and she is amazing, too! I highly recommend making a stop here for your new babies if you are looking for a loveable pet!
