These are my vets for both of my cats. They take great care of your pets and are super friendly and helpful with any questions you may have about care. Their prices are also very reasonable and I appreciate that they offer care plans that include preventative care for both cats and dogs. The photos are of my cats, the blonde was over-conditioned and had bladder stones, AHOS diagnosed her and got her on a special diet that solved both issues within 1 visit, the Black cat is just a one eyed cutie that I take to AHOS for monthly nail trims since she swipes at me when I try to cut her nails.

Everyone took the best care of our "Charlie girl", being 15 1/2 years old doesn't help matters when she has to go to the Vet, but everyone that helped Charlie made her experience that much easier. We are so happy we chose the best Veterinarian Hospital for Charlie and our two other kitties that we will be setting up appointments for in thr near future. Thank you for your kindness

Horrible experience from day 1. I was 6 minutes late for the first appointment. They refused to see me. Can I tell you how many times I had to wait for them to see me ?!?

Then when they were cleaning my cats teeth, they severely clipped her toenails WITHOUT my permission . This is a rookie mistake!!! Every vet I have ever been to ask if my cat goes outside, so as to not take away their defense mechanism of climbing trees. My 7 lb kitty loves to climb trees. Yet they clipped her toenails and totally handicapped her. Ashley , the manager did apologize, but then said it was my fault.. I shouldn’t let my cat outside!!

The last straw was when I brought my cat to get a $300 blood test. They didn’t explain to me that it was just a tech visit. My kitty is hyperthyroid and I wanted to talk to the doctor because a hyperthyroid cat would have an elevated blood test. They blamed me for not asking if the doctor would be there. Ashley , the front manager was EXTREMELY rude. I would never ever ever take my pets there again.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Experience

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I brought my senior cat here a few weeks ago after he started to limp on his back leg. When he was brought in, they took imaging, and briefly looked over him, they claimed he had arthritis in his leg and sent me off with pills and a $500 bill. After a week of trying the pills, he only got worse and worse and lost a bunch of weight rapidly over the course of about two weeks. I eventually felt a large bump on the side of his leg that I thought I felt before but didn’t think much of it. I knew right then and there just by looking and feeling, that there was something wrong. Then his tongue started to stick out of his mouth at all times with constant drool. Still concerned about the supposed arthritis and now his mouth, I took him to Clark Vet in Old Lyme, as soon as I went in I felt welcomed and relaxed, Dr. Clark and the wonderful vet carefully looked at him while showering him with love and treats. They told me he would have to come back the next day for sedation to be better looked at, in the mean time they gave me more medication. For both days, an injection, medication, sedation, and food, my bill was only $225. But, when I brought him in the next day, not only did I find out he DOES NOT have arthritis in the leg that was bothering him, he has CANCER and you can clearly see and feel the soft tissue mass that I thought was maybe a dislocated bone. You people should be absolutely embarrassed, ashamed, and disgusted with your practices. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SCAMMED OUT OF YOUR MONEY AND WANT THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS FOR YOUR ANIMAL. DO BETTER!

The doctor that performed Leo's surgery and staff that attended to him were amazing! I felt comfortable knowing he was in good hands. The doctor was kind and above all knowledgeable. All my questions were answered and all my concerns were relieved.

You come away from Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook feeling like the entire team -- from reception, to vet techs, to Dr. Shrack -- love your pet as much as you do. Great folks. And we've had to be there a lot in the last few years with an aging pup.

Animal Hospital of OS is the BEST. The front desk techs are kind and helpful, the behind the counter techs are equally kind, and it all starts at the top with a great vet, Dr. Schrack. We love this vet practice. The best vet in all of the Old Saybrook and Clinton area!

Recently, I visited the Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook with my fourteen year old cat for the first time. We were immediately greeted by a friendly young woman to review paperwork, then show us to our room. She was so kind. Our entire visit was thoroughly knowledgeable, and caring. Dr. Shrack conveyed a kind expertise for my cat’s medical issues, and I felt quite confident in the care he would be receiving. Seeing Fluffy relaxed and calm throughout the visit, helped me feel calm during his visit, as well! Thanks so much.
