We used to come here frequently for boarding, and our dog did great. We moved in the last year, and were told our dog needs to do a meet and greet because it’s been some time.

Unfortunately he did not pass the meet and greet, due to growling when left alone, and I was told I can reschedule again.

After leaving the facility, I get a call from Ashley. She tells me he tried to “bite” staff and a meet and greet is not possible again, and they’ll be unable to ever take my dog at this facility in the future.

Firstly, the staff need to get it together. Telling a client conflicting information is very unprofessional. Not cool they said I can reschedule when I can’t, and not cool that they told 2 different narratives of what went down.

Second, it’s ridiculous they won’t let us do another meet and greet. I was told “it might just have been the specific day, sights or smells”. Ok… well if that’s the case, why can’t I come back another day to re-try?

Why does this place give up on dogs and clients, that have been loyal customers for YEARS?! That’s just poor customer service and a terrible business mindset. I get staff safety is important, of course. At the same time, it just doesn’t make sense why they are unwilling to try again.

Crazy. I won’t go back even if they gave free services. No wonder reviews of this place have gone downhill in recent months.

EDIT: Looking through the ratings and reviews, Ambers used to have all 5 stars and it is a shame to see how far it has fallen downhill.

Dishonest people seem to have taken over the staff or there was a change in management that spoiled everything. I used to board and groom our dog here a year ago and we never had a problem, but when I requested an appointment this year they randomly decided we need to come in for a "Meet & Greet" (haven't the staff already worked with our dog before?) before they can confirm the appointment.

My wife went in for the Meet & Greet, they took our dog to one of the rooms for a few minutes, and they said our dog was a bit anxious with the new staff: growling and not wanting to come out. They said we can call to reschedule the meet & greet in a few weeks.

So... we call back and they say we can't do anything because our dog (for the first time we are hearing this in our lives) tried to bite one of the staff members? Again, never happened before and hard to believe. Don't know why from the moment we scheduled boarding they needed to redo meet & greets all for us to be turned away from the business.

As an aside, my wife saw the groomer being mean to a poodle they were working with - she kept scolding the dog for "not being nice" when it was just sitting there a little scared to be groomed. They introduced all these new grooming fees for uncooperative or unhappy dogs. No love for the animals! If that's your poodle today being groomed, please take it somewhere else - they weren't treating it well.

Unfortunate as this is because we really liked the location and facilities at Ambers, we're going to return to other places that have trimmed our dog's nails and boarded him without issue.

I have five of my cats who have been boarding there since October of last year to date due to a house fire. They have been well taken care of so far. A new area was just completed for cats and my five cats are the first to enjoy their new digs!

The first time we took our fluffy little dog, the girl that took care of him did a fantastic job with his hair cut &shampoo. So when we picked him up from Amber's today, we were very surprised to see such disparity in skill as this hairstylist clearly did not do nearly as good of a job. Not only that, but she charged nearly double amount. Apparently, pricing is left up to the whatever the stylist feels they r owed. Notice in pictures how uneven his ears are, how choppy his hair cut is, and how she didn't even shave down his paws(made them super fuzzy which made them look bigger than they actually are). So beware, maybe you'll get a great stylist, and maybe you won't and you'll get someone who overcharges despite clear lack of experience.

This place has turned into a NIGHTMARE! I’ve had a bad experience before, then they seemed to improve and wanted to give the place another chance, but on Sunday September 3, 2023, the day before Labor Day, I took my two dogs for grooming at 12:00 noon. A maltipoo and a terrier mix. One was for grooming and haircut, the other just grooming and “tidy up” which is included in the grooming fee.

At 4:30 I called to see if they were ready. The receptionist (Lisa or Elisa) told me they were not ready until 5:30 but they would be closing at 5:00 so I needed to pay online. I decided to go and pay in person and wait for them. They were still working on the maltipoo, and the receptionist asked me to pay for grooming and haircut for both dogs. I asked why since there was only one for a full cut. They had made a mistake and gave the terrier a very short haircut which I didn’t want! The receptionist told me that she didn’t know what happened, that that’s what I told her over the phone (which was a lie because I had to be there in person to drop them off and specifically said “tidy up only”) She responded, “well, I don’t know what happened, besides, that’s what you asked last time”. I said I would only pay for one regular grooming and one grooming with haircut (which was the right thing). I had to leave and come back at 5:30 because they were not ready. When I got back at 5:30 pm the door was closed, I couldn’t get in. Around 5:50 pm waiting outside, two girls brought them out. They started apologizing and I, thinking it was the haircut, I said, “I guess it was not your fault, you were just following instructions from the receptionist” but then she said, “no, it’s because we cut your maltipoo’s tongue (nick) while grooming her, I think it was when she turned to see you” – I said “when? I was not even inside, I had to wait outside! – She said, “well, she turned to see somebody, and her tongue was nicked, the shears are very sharp, nothing I could do!” At that moment I just took my dogs and left. Her face was stained with blood. Luckily, I was able to stop the bleeding at home after a while. I would have been too difficult to find a vet on a Sunday afternoon, the day before Labor Day!

LAST TIME I TAKE MY DOGS THERE! AWFUL SERVICE.

My dog was not fed in the 8 hours he spent at the Doggie Daycare Service yesterday. They returned the food I brought for my dog just as I gave it to them, they said that the technician forgot to feed him. Greatly disappointed.
