I found a puppy and needed to find a good home for him.. I emailed Almost home and Todd and Jackie reached out immediately. The knowledge have and level of attention they give to every animal in need is extraordinary! The helped me through the process from beginning to almost end. We found a family and chomping Elmer has his forever home this week. Thank you to all the volunteers, Todd, and Jackie.

Volunteering at AHF has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I love the flexibility of when to volunteer, the community of volunteers, and of course, the chance to help the dogs and cats in their time of need. Our country needs to do better to ensure no animal (or human) experiences neglect or abuse, and volunteering here is one step in the right direction to create a better world for us all.

When filling out an application for a 10 yo dog I was interested in adopting I saw per this foundations policy I need a cosigner because I am a senior. Insulting to me as I have adopted and fostered dogs in the past and age was not an issue. So sad that this discrimination exists when so many dogs , especially senior dogs , need homes. Good luck finding your dogs good homes.

Penguin has been on here way too long. You need to move her to another member that will work with her. Saw her 3 times at Petsmart and on the home visit Maggy then tells me she poops in the house still, chews on cables and gives her junk food for snacks. I was rejected for having a small yard. Ext cord in the kitchen because I recently had electrical problem. Said my dog getting healthy snacks vs junk food Penguin is used to could be a problem. Saw this dog 3 times prior to home visit and at my house she says " she just wanted to be honest", really. Not to mention Maggy works from home which means this dog should have less issues for the time she has had her. Seems to me this poor dog is not with the right person. I have rescued 8 dogs in the past and tackled all issues. Its not the dog its the person that has them. This is one of those situations. Was I hurt when denied, yes. I got an email not even a phone call. I was not going to write this but the dog is still on your website. Please reach out to this dog and get her a good home. I recently adopted from another facility less money and far less hassell.
He is thriving, potty trained already and in the daily routine and its only been a week. If there were other factors to my not getting Penguin then thats on you for not telling me. Oh yeah and Maggy takes her on LONG walks. I would check into that too.
I hope Penguin finds the home she deserves as soon as possible.

Almost Home Foundation is run completely by volunteers who love animals. My husband walks dogs there weekly. The dogs are wonderful. I great place to adopt your next dog.
