NOT TAKING NEW PATIENTS RIGHT NOW--Our elderly dog had congestive heart failure, and they gave her the help that she needed. Dr. Grossbard is an expert and compassionate doctor, and he was willing to work with us to reduce our bill when we were on a limited budget. Our dog's life was extended a little longer because of him.

When I wanted to bring our other dog to get care here, I found that they are not taking new patients. But this policy may change at some point, so I recommend that you bring your pets here if you have the opportunity.

I absolutely love AllCare. Before coming here I had less than great experiences with other vets being a too rough with my little bulldog, so much so that it made him terrified of the vet. Dr. Grossbard and the lovely staff at AllCare were so welcoming, caring and knowledgeable, I knew the second we walked in that this was our new vet.

I am utterly shocked that I have to do this review but my experience should be broadcasted and hopefully dr. Grossbard will read this to see what is happening at his veterinary hospital!! First of all dr. Grossbard is amazing!! He is caring, kind and very knowledgeable. My dog Otter has been his patient for over 10 years and I always felt that Otter was in good hands!! His receptionists on the other hand are a different story, rude, thoughtless, completely uncaring and super uncooperative. About a month ago I called to make an appointment. Otter was having seizures and we needed meds. (We went to ER of course and got needed help/meds right away but ER doesn't refill meds that is why I was calling our veterinary office). Careless receptionist (don't remember her name) decided to schedule me in a month. I told her that we needed something sooner, maybe in a week or two. There was a lot of back and force and she was just becoming ruder and ruder. At some point I had no more patience for her so I talked to a different receptionist who had a lot of appointments available in the same week. I felt it was pretty odd... Dr.Grossbard was not in so we saw dr. Sanches. She prescribed meds and told me that Otter had to be on them forever. I picked up the prescription and brought it to Walmart. It looks like dr. Sanches didn't give refills. Walmart manager asked to bring a new prescription or to have it faxed. Now receptionist Liza (who is super uncooperative) is refusing to fax it to the pharmacy and asking to contact the pharmacy again to have them fax the authorization which Walmart is refusing to do so. Allcare vet is not using modern technology, their prescription is missing fax number and the wait time when calling them is forever. I absolutely understand Walmart in this case but I don't understand Liza's attitude. She didn't even let me finish my sentence and kept giving me her unlicensed opinion/instructions. I am sure dr. Sanches or dr. Grossbard would have zero problem refilling my dog's meds if they knew the situation, but Liza kept on talking instead of passing on my message. Shame on you Liza!! We don't call because we have nothing else to do, we call because our fur babies are sick and your inconsiderate behavior is disgusting. You are just an unkind person who sits at her desk saying "no this, no that, we can't do it and don't let people finish the sentence". It should be more "I understand, let me check what the doctor will say or do". You made zero effort helping!! Entire reception staff is horrible, my suggestion - find a better veterinary hospital for your fur babies because they deserve the BEST!! We definitely won't be coming here again!!

We brought our guinea pigs here for years (from the early days of his practice). He is very honest and will give you options and explains each one clearly. He doesn't upsell or overcharge. The only drawback is that he has taken on a lot of new clients so you might not be able to get in for urgent care. We had a few backup options for urgent care (which is hard to find for guinea pigs). I have gone to VCA All Pets in SF (very expensive) in a can't wait appointment. I have also be told that Adobe Pet Hospital in Los Altos is good for pocket pet urgent care.
We are no longer clients of his due to moving away from SF but I would highly recommend him.

Rude people, especially the women who answer the phone. They have a 10-minute wait policy for appointments (WHICH THEY DON'T INFORM YOU ABOUT BEFOREHAND). My husband got stuck in traffic and arrived 11 minutes late, and they canceled the appointment even though my cat's mouth was swollen and in bad shape. I almost cried on the phone to someone named Rachel, begging her to wait just one more minute, but she was dismissive. I'm not surprised since I also had a bad experience scheduling appointments. I don't know who they think they are. Rude, bad treatment, zero understanding, even when I told them I'd prefer to share information via email because I'm not a native speaker and had trouble understanding the call. I don’t plan to reschedule. I’d rather pay more in the city and be treated as a human. Heartless and rudes.

Very attentive animal lovers here- and Dr. J has a thorough process of explaining options. We've had cat tooth extractions, car impact-injury recovery support, and cancer-related surgery done with All Care. I have no doubts about quality of care. ❤

Dr. Grossbard truly loves animals and genuinely cares for them!
He is honest and takes his time to thoroughly explain everything we need to know regarding our pet.
I originally visited this clinic ten years ago. He was my favorite veterinarian back then, unfortunately I moved away pushing us to search for a new veterinarian, but no one seemed nearly as genuine, warm, and skillful as him.
When I moved back we decided to return to Allcare and we did not regret it! I am consistently surprised with the followup calls after visits and how quickly he responds to messages. The staff are friendly and respectful, and loving to animals.

My daughter lives in the city and she has made Allcare her primary place for her two aussies the last 3 years and is very satisfied with his care and work ethic as well!

Thank you Dr. G and staff for making our family feel welcome!
