I am writing this review during a time of sadness. This past mid November we made the difficult decision to put our 14 year old black lab down. I was, and still am, heartbroken. The doctors and staff at Suffield Veterinary Hospital are wonderful. They have cared for Tully most of his life.
Suffield Vet allowed us as much time with Tully before he was put down. Once the process was complete it was extremely sad to leave knowing I would not see him again.
After his passing, he was sent to a local crematory. A little over a week later our beloved dog was returned to us. I cried tears of sadness and tears of joy. His urn is heavy! He was and still is a big boy. Thank you to the staff at Suffield Veterinary Hospital. Your dedication to your careers is amazing. My family and I are forever grateful.

This vet was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! I brought my puppy in because of an ear infection. I had to bring her back 3 times before she was put on something that worked adding to about $900 in bills for a medication I later found for less then $20 online. It was yeast in her ears. During the first appointment they explained that they needed to remove the hair from inside her ears for the medication to work.. “ an ear cleaning” they charged me an extra $100. Unfortunately the money wasn’t even the bad part. My puppy is a shitzu/ poodle and only a few pounds at the time.. one lady pinned her down to the table so she was restrained and couldn’t move, my puppy was SCREAMING bloody murder!!!! As the vet plucked her hair out of the inside of her ears. They had her pinned and screaming for a good 5 minutes. I had to leave the room because I was so upset watching her in SO much pain and the screams she was making. Long story short the medication didn’t even work and I needed to take her back. The next visit only a month after the first they said she needed a ear cleaning again for the “new medication to work” this time they said there was a solution they put in there ears that causes the hair to just fall out. No pulling, no pinning, no pain, no traumatic experience what so ever. I said WHY didn’t they use this solution the first TIME?! And do that to her! I was in tears that what they did was completely unnecessary and received no explanation. No one cared other then the receptionist and all she could say was “ I’m so sorry”. I changed my vet immediately…. I’m horrified by the way my puppy was treated and how they treated me because there was simply no care or concern.

This was our go-to when our dogs were puppies, but I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone now. We took our female dog in for an ultrasound to verify if she was pregnant or it was a false pregnancy. The point of the visit was to do just that and do a wellness check. She was taken to another room for what we assumed was the ultrasound. But when my fiance brought her home, he expressed concern that he got overcharged. So I checked the receipt and notes to find that they vaccinated our pregnant dog with 4 different shots! (Without our consent or even our knowledge!) Not to mention that they also offered to spay abort. I understand this is an option, however, she was quite far along and I asked "isn't that dangerous for her?" and was responded to with "yeah, but we can scoop them out anyway if you want". They also complimented how healthy she was and that she was carrying the puppies quite well and then asked what we feed her. When we said a mixture of high quality kibble (Nature's Logic) and premade commercial raw they said "we don't recommend raw, you need to switch her food immediately". I reminded them that one, they just said she was doing amazing, and two, isn't it a bad idea to switch a pregnant dog's food? They agreed but said we should ASAP anyway. Then they tried to push Hills kibble (aka one of THE lowest grade foods in the industry) and dead probiotics to us. I reassured them that she already gets real probiotics, but my fiance felt pressured to take it anyway. If a vet is strong-arming you like that, it's a big red flag. Suffice it to say, we don't go here anymore. We were considering a visit recently, because our current vet was on vacation, but they wanted us to drop our dog off all day for "various tests" even though we just wanted a wellness check. Another red flag. I wouldn't trust my dog alone with them ever again. If you want a vet that actually respects you and your dogs, go to All Creatures Wise and Wonderful in East Granby.

One of the few places our puppy is happy to pull up to. They're always so fast and take a amazing care of our yorkie. Prices are fair and we always leave with a smile on our face. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an office to treat your pet with the best of their abilities.
