Dr Hunt, Dr. Orange, Dr Foley, Dr Morgan are all amazing in their fields, they genuinely care. They go above and beyond the scope of their jobs because they are that dedicated to their community. I would never have considered having surgery here before Dr.Ben Hunt, (I'm sure the other Dr is outstanding as well, I have just never been his patient), but Dr Hunt has saved my life, and so has his wife Allie, twice. I have full trust in Dr. Hunt's abilities and his judgement on all more advanced procedures. All in all a great team of really dedicated people in a tiny little town. We are lucky to have each and every one of them who is here to help us.

Review for Plumas County Hospital Staff and Low-Income Housing Program
As a lifelong resident of this community, I’ve faced the daunting challenge of accessing healthcare without insurance. My solution was often to donate blood as a means to monitor my health, circumventing the prohibitive costs of hospital visits. Despite these hurdles, the local area has been a beacon of support, providing me with low-income housing and addressing my mental health needs with compassion and care. The medication and procedures I’ve received have significantly improved my quality of life, a testament to the dedicated staff at Plumas County Hospital and the robust safety net our community has woven. It’s heartening to see a community come together to uplift one of its own, ensuring that no one slips through the cracks. This collective effort has allowed me to lead a healthier, more stable life, for which I am deeply grateful. ?

I am pregnant with my first baby girl and have visited this hospital many times due to prenatal care. The staff is always very welcoming and knows me by first name. The doctors are great and the lab workers are very experienced and knowledgeable makes my visit a good experience.

This last week I suffered a knee injury. Plumas Hospital ER was great during this very stressful event. I liked everyone that helped me. Thank you, Plumas Hopital.

Darin greeted me by name in the radiology reception room as he said he was “expecting me” which was an unexpected pleasantry. And just before he entered the room, 2 kind other personnel eagerly asked if I’d been helped which I had. And as I’m following Darin out for my CT scan, my husband had a question that a guy tech or doctor answered in depth and thoroughly. All of which AMAZES me as compared to Eisenhower Health Center in the Coachella Valley which delivers not much more than mediocre interaction.
Darin was & has been once prior my radiology tech who is SUPER good at what he does….He gives you a minute by minute explanation of every step to be taken. No surprises! He’s the BEST! Thank you, Darin!

I have copd. Went to emergency because I wasn’t able to get enough air into my lungs. Nurse took my oxygen level and stated I wasn’t that bad and could wait to see if I needed oxygen. Mind you, I could hardly breathe. I got up and left for home hoping I wouldn’t die before I wake.
I never felt so disrespected. Worst experience ever.

My most recent Plumas Hospital experience involved a prostrate biopsy. The procedure was thoroughly explained by the doctor and primary attending nurse. I was made comfortably aware of the procedure, what to expect during and afterwards. All went well! Now, just waiting for the biopsy results (fingers crossed).

Plumas District Hospital is no longer a viable option for health care within the community. I inquired about a rabies shot for my daughter (June 25, 2023), who had been bitten by a bat, and they turned her away even though the ER contact person indicated that they possessed the vaccine in house. She claimed that they could not provide services since "they did not have her records" and referred me to Public Health. On a Sunday, no less! I agreed to provide all necessary information, and asked to speak to her supervisor, but to no avail. Not only did she refuse to connect me to her supervising doctor, she even refused to provide his or her name. After years of financial bailouts, one might expect that this organization would get its act together, but it is clear to me now that their failure is the direct result of incompetence and lack of concern for their patients--and no amount of money will change the culture of an organization this badly broken.
