Dr. Vicky and her staff do an exceptional job of caring for their patients. Beware, they are always busy! But if your animal is cared for by Dr. Vicky and team they are cared for by exceptionally committed and knowledgeable people.

It's difficult looking for a new veterinarian after being with one for over 15 years but things do change. I was fortunate to find Kern Veterinary Hospital for my pets, the staff & Veterinarian are terrific they get you in on time spend quality time with them. Thank you.

I have a home in Los Angeles and a home in Weldon. My dog's vet is in Los Angeles. This past week I was in Weldon. On Wednesday morning I had to make the difficult decision to have my dog put to sleep. I called Kern Veterinary Hospital and asked if they had an appointment slot available to put my dog to sleep. The woman said they did have an available appointment slot, but when she found out I wasn't an existing customer, she told me they weren't taking any new customers. The procedure would have used up the appointment slot they had available, but obviously wasn't going to add anything to their workload going forward. They refused to help end a dog's suffering because they had not previously gotten any money out of the dog's owner. They have no provisions for assisting with an emergency in the community at large, an indication of their utter lack of commitment to the community. Their bland lack of compassion is chilling and telling. I ended up driving my dog to Bakersfield, where the kind folks at Banfield Pet Hospital eased her on her way and took care of arrangements for cremation.

I gave them one star because it was required to write a review. Heather is only interested in getting every dollar she can from you. Nice as long as she's getting it. But when she's gotten all you can give, she's a cold-hearted, spineless snake. She doesn't care about your pet or you.$$$$$

I was so impressed with our experience at Kern Veterinary Hospital. The staff, whether on the phone or in person, was warm, friendly and helpful. We watched them treat all the animals in the lobby like they were their favorite pet. Ours was treated just like that (even though it was their first time meeting our dog). Dr. Heather was warm and caring and thorough, and took the time to personally give us our options and made sure we understood the pros and cons of each, and sent us on our way with antibiotics and a follow up appt. The service was excellent, the cost was surprisingly affordable and they all sent love our way. We HIGHLY recommend Kern Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Heather. A shout out, also, to Lisa at the front desk, Hanna who called us about a cancellation opening, Shannon and her technical assistance to Dr. Heather, and, of course, Dr. Heather. Any staff we missed mentioning was merely because we didn’t personally interact with them. EVERYONE there was impressive with their caring and helpfulness with the pets and their owners.

It was our first visit. Josie is my 18 year old pup. Everyone was kind and gentle with my pup. This place is clean and not expensive at all. They get very booked up, so be patient, it worth it. Maggie is next! ♡

Well my trip to the vet this time ended up with having to deal with end of life for my beloved pet. I thank God they were there to assist in the final moments. I know no one really wants to discuss such issues let alone think about them, but they were understanding and did excellent in what was to ease the suffering not only of my pet but myself too. Ty to all at Kern Veterinary. Tho I couldn't speak and say it at the time I am saying it now.
