I have taken multiple dogs to this vet. I have only had good experiences with them. It's pretty conveniently located right on Mission Street. Parking can be hit or miss depending on what time your appointment is-since its all street parking. I did try to use their app and was having technical difficulties, so I ended up calling in and getting it figured out pretty quickly.

The Animal Farm Pet Hospital is a really wonderful place filled with sweet people. My beloved cat very suddenly passed away in my arms 2 weeks ago. Frantically, I ran to this vet, barefoot and near hysterical. They did all they could, they had 5 people working on him trying to resuscitate him within seconds. Unfortunately it was too late, and he was beyond bringing back. They gave me a private room to sit with him for a while, and were so kind and respectful. I could tell they all really love animals and do their best. Afterwards they held him for me for a few days until I was ready to bury him, and when they gave him to us he was wrapped really sweetly. They gave me an ink copy of his footprints, and a sweet card signed by the whole vet. It really helped to have them in this sudden and difficult time. Thank you Animal Farm! I will always go to you guys with any future pet.

Disorganized and very understaffed. This used to be a good place but has gone downhill since they were purchased by a big vet corporation in 2023 (see all the bad reviews in the last year). Poor communication, high prices, and they like to upcharge. My tiny dog had a 3-year rabies vaccination from a different vet in March 2024 and they recently required that he be re-vaccinated by THEIR office because they would no longer recognize the vaccine certificate from a different NorCal vet (this is the same vax certificate that Dr. Shimura herself approved of in April 2024). Is it healthy for a dog to receive that many vaccinations in a matter of a few months? Are they really concerned about my dog's health or just adding to the bill?

Just when I thought Animal Farm was getting back to running a functioning Vet hospital again, they reversed any positive reviews I gave them over 43 years through numerous owners. They are so pesty with the numerous text reminders for my cat's vaccines, my dog 's wellness check, and 2 other cat vaccines. I got constant text confirmations. I made appointments for 2 shots, and a flea treatment for each cat. I told the new receptionist , Syreeta that my cat is onery. BTW, Syreeta has been there 1 week. I said I will give him 2 sedatives, 100mg to keep him calm. When she wanted to weigh him, I said I want to keep the towel over him so he doesn't jump off the scale, I didn't want him to knock the computers if he jumped off. She didn't want the towel, so I convinced her to deduct 10ozs for the towel weight. He hissed at me when I was picking him up. So she told the vet that my cat was dangerous. I'd hiss too, if I was in a strange place and strangers and drugged. The vet told her to tell me they have a "no fear" policy and he wont see my cat. I asked to talk to the vet, she said he's on the phone. I said I'll wait so we can talk and he can judge for himself if he scared. She said I can't wait, I insisted I want to wait to talk to him. She said she would call the authorities if I wanted to wait! Wait, what?! I started walking to his office, and she ran and got infront of me to block me. She said he's an interim vet and the other vet and tech weren't there. I asked why didn't she think about that when she made my appointment, and I wasted money on the sedatives to drug the poor little guy. I just can't accept that my cat, whom they've been seeing since it was a 3 day old, for over 7 years and we get treated so shabbily. They don't even have some medications in house now, and you have to order online. It's now bought by another corporation. The employees that were there before were so excellent and nice. Why do corporations have to always screw up a good thing?! They shouldn't be in animal health care business. I will never go back there again. They aren't the only clinic/hospital around.

This is the best place to go for your pet needs or for any emergency Treatments. Way better then SPCA. Dr. G is the best doctor for my Dog and he is caring and understanding. I love this place for my dog Champ and the main thing is that it’s affordable for someone like me. Lydia the nurse she is awesome she took her time explaining me every little detail on medicine and care.

My poor little cat, Ella needed dental surgery this past week after she lost a pre-molar tooth that had been infected (she had needed a dental cleaning, but I had put it off due to covid--bad cat mom, I know). I was VERY worried and stressed about the whole procedure, but the staff at Animal Farm took great care of Ella. In the end, she ended up needing a couple of more extractions, and it wasn't cheap, but the work was completed professionally and with care.

In the immediate days that followed, I called several times with questions and concerns, and they were very understanding and patient with me. I even spoke with the doctor on the phone a couple of times and when I was freaking out on Day 2 of recovery, he allowed me to bring her in to get checked at 10 min before closing. My cat was, of course, fine, but I was so grateful to have her rechecked that evening as it alleviated my concerns...

I'm really grateful for the attentiveness taken with my fur baby at Animal Farm and am happy to report she is making a slow but steady recovery! 🙂
