My mom came into Tuskawilla for rehab after her hospital stay for a stroke.
She was very nervous about going to a facility .
The experience here was great!
The therapy team gave her a regiment and encouraged her to put in the work.
Food was good for “hospital food” About 3 weeks later she was able to come home with home health. Would recommend this place to those looking for a great rehab facility .

We selected tusakawilla nursing and rehab for my mother in law after complications with a hip replacement. The director of admissions came to meet us at the hospital and helped to ensure she would get the care she needed. Staff were attentive, the room was clean. Her PT was great and she was able to come home. We are thankful for Tuskawilla nursing and rehab.

The admissions director Julie is amazing! She's makes hospital discharges so easy and seamless. Always answers her phone even during after hours and on weekends, she's quick to evaluate referrals and visit with patients and also speedy with getting insurance authorizations! 10 out of 10!

My aunt is long term care at Tuskawilla and they have truly become family. From nursing to the receptionist, everyone is so friendly. The salon is a bonus as she enjoys getting her hair done!

My stay at Tuskawilla was very good I especially was impressed with the teamwork of the therapy department they work flawlessly, switching us from machine to machine. The care and hygiene was very good also. Food choices were very good at food were was prepared very well I especially like the activities the bingo the free manicure was wonderful. I just hope I don’t have to return.

If I could give negative stars, I would. There are no words for the amount of disrespect the Admissions Department has for the process or for families who do not understand the process. Yari should probably consider a different line of work because she is dismissive, rude and overall not helpful in any form of the word. My mother was in an auto accident and needed several weeks of rehab. We were referred to this facility by the hospital. The hospital attempted several times to provide the necessary information for her to be transferred. From the beginning, it was chaos. The admissions paperwork needed to be sent multiple times, only to be told she was denied without reason. I had to repeatedly call for an update only to have not one message returned. When I did finally get her on the phone she rudely stated, "I said I'll call you by the end of the day". Let me add, she never once asked my name or the name of the patient. (I guess she's psychic). As expected, she never called. My fault for not asking which day she was referring to in her response. When another family member called for an update, Yari would not provide any information other than she was "denied". Ok, fine, but why? Yari, all you did was add more stress to an already difficult situation. We were provided a bogus response without validity. We are not asking for a secret recipe, we are asking why your facility denied care. Ma'am, this is your job; the one YOU CHOSE. A little compassion and courtesy would go a long way in your line of work. I am not sure why you are so mean to individuals who are already going through a tough situation. With all due respect, please do not respond to this review with a boilerplate "We're very sorry for your negative experience..." response you give to all of your negative reviews. Maybe try to empathize with individuals rather than copy and paste. It makes an already bad situation worse. Just DO BETTER!

If you are thinking about taking someone here don’t !!!!! This place should not even be in business. My mother was released from Oviedo hospital ( another place to avoid ) it was the day before thanksgiving. We had no where to take my mom in such short notice by the hospital that could give my mom the care she needed. And this place claimed they could. Got there at 6pm at night cause the move on there part was so unorganized. They put my mom in a gloomy room with paint missing off the walls. The pictures look nothing like the room. Finally some guy came in claiming to be a nurse. He said every 3 hours they come in to check people’s vitals. So the oxygen tank that came with the ambulance people was almost gone so he started looking for a machine. Brought one in. Plugged it in. It was loud and then stopped. It said needs to be serviced. So now she has no oxygen and he’s running around looking for another oxygen machine the concentrator. Took so long I had to give my 94 yr old mother my oxygen that I use. I kept yelling she can’t breathe. Brought in another one. Again did not work. They wanted to give my mom 1\2 used tanks thru out the night that they did keep a eye on when they ran out. So after speaking with a manager on the phone cause I demanded to. She told me at 1am in the morning I can go home and bring my moms back which I did. So at 2:30 in the morning I came home thinking my mom would be fine. Also no dinner for her when we got there at 6 pm. He said the kitchen closed ? Seriously. So in the morning tried to call the nurses to ring my mom’s room. No answer. Sent my husband there cause he was close to the place and here was mom laying in bed saying that she couldn’t breath all night and nobody came in when she ranged the button. I told that nurse check my mom’s oxygen. It was 83. Anything below 92 you need oxygen. My husband called 911 ASAP and they took her to a better hospital then Oviedo. She knows she’s congested heart failure and left her down in the bed all night when she couldn’t breathe. She slid down and they never put her back up. None of these people are qualified to take care of nothing. Not even a pet !!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place should not be in business. The pictures lie. I don’t know who wrote the good reviews but I think it was them and family. And I don’t know how they got best places for 2024. That person got something for that. Never leave anyone in here. There is so much neglect here. Very sad 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
