Nice store but the mark up is ridiculous. I understand it not being a chain store so they have to be able to make a profit, but the prices are a bit much. A Bala shark here costs like $24 vs $7 from PetSmart. That's extreme! They have other selections of fish that are nice but I'm actually hesitant to buy from here again considering the fact that I could find the same fish for a fraction elsewhere. I bought an aquatic plant here for $15 and it barely lasted 2 weeks. Bought the same plant from Petco and it only cost me $9. Nice customer service though. I'd only shop here for rare selections if I decide to come back.

This is a hidden gem in North County. The quality of service, expertise and knowledge are by far the best in the St. Louis area. I came with a fish in a bucket on the brink of death, and they instantly told me what I needed and what to do. And seeing that I was on a budget, I was given the immediate and intermediate things to do. Found out this fish is a Red Terror Cichlid and they provided me with the food that he likes and all things needed to keep him healthy. They have some beautiful fish here so if you're looking to start an aquarium or you're an experienced aquarium keeper and want to add to your tank, head to Malawi Aquatics for any needs you have have.

Purchased some Blue Dream shrimp. They are sweet! Billy and Reggie were friendly and knowledgeable. Duncan was very helpful as well. I will certainly go there again!

Pretty cool place! Has a ton of variety of fish to choose from. All of his fish look healthy. The owner was super friendly and fun to talk with. Will definitely go back!
