I cannot recommend Kauai Veterinary Clinic enough! Their attention to detail is truly exceptional. From the moment I called to schedule an appointment, the staff was incredibly organized, friendly, and accommodating. They made sure to fit us in at a time that worked best for our busy schedule, and the entire process was seamless.

The receptionists deserve special praise for their amazing follow-up. After our visit, they called to check in on how my pet was doing, showing genuine care and concern. She also let us know a medication they had ordered was available and for our pet in the same day to get that medication. This extra step made me feel like my pet’s well-being was truly important to them.

During the visit, the care and thoroughness shown by the veterinarian were impressive. They took the time to listen to all my concerns, explain everything clearly, and provided thoughtful recommendations tailored to my pet’s needs. I felt reassured knowing that my pet was in such capable hands. The level of compassion and professionalism at this clinic is outstanding. If you’re looking for a veterinary clinic that prioritizes both quality care and efficient service, Kauai Veterinary Clinic is the place to go!

I can’t recommend this vet enough! I’ve seen a few of the vets here, and they’re all great, but I especially love Dr. Bushe. A few years back, one of our kitties, Gizmo, had cancer. They were there for us every step of the way. The morning we decided to let him go, they got us in right away. They were so kind, and they even sent us a sweet card afterward that we still have on our coffee table. After Gizmo passed away, we went to a different vet because it was closer to our home. But I regret ever switching. The drive to Lihue is totally worth it. Recently, One of our cats had a big lump on his neck, so we brought him in. Even though we hadn’t been there in years they got us in the next morning. Dr. Bushe drained it, tested it, and did an ultrasound. She also gave him antibiotics. When we paid the bill, they charged us almost $200 less than what they had estimated. I think it was because our cat was so well-behaved?… but I just thought that was so kind of them. That has never happened to me before. You can tell they really care about the animals and they care about you as the pet parent. Will never go to any other vet again. Grateful for this place

We have been very pleased by the professionalism and transparency on costs, no surprises. The parking lot is small think about getting one of the first appointments of the day. The waiting room is even smaller, the protocol is to stay outside with your dog until your examination room is ready and go straight there. It is a bit hard to find, notice that one of the pictures has a heavy equipment place in the background with the buckets in the air; great landmark.

Just saw Dr.Gallardo and had to leave halfway thru the visit. I went to establish care for my hound mix female named Kaia. She is very gentle and quiet dog, not an ounce of aggression. Kaia is a rescue and was probably abused as a breeding hunting dog. The initial meeting with the vet tech was fine, she was kind. But after she left about 10 minutes later Dr. Gallardo came in with two vet techs. They put Kaia on a table and lifted raised it up. They then proceeded to put her in a head lock and lock her backside also. Kaia was confused and did not like the strong holds they had on her. They gave no consideration to how the hold was affecting her. I asked if it was necessary to put her in a hold like that and they said it was protocol. I then offered to help but they told me I couldn't and I could only pet her head. Dr. Gallardo proceeded to look at her ears while she became more scared in the holds. I'd never seen a vet office handle a dog like this. I asked them multiple times that they not hold her like that and just let her sit on the table and she would let them look at her. It was completely unnecessary. After attempting a few times to get them to be a bit more gentle with her I decided to just stop the visit and leave. The Doctor put her hands up made a face like I was crazy and left the room. Absolutely unprofessional. I'm the client and I'm concerned with how you're handling my pet, why not just take a break and regroup, discuss what's happening. I do not recommend this place and thought others should know before they take their animal here. I bring my jack chi here, he hates the vet and gets super mad about them touching him. They take it in stride here and manage to deal with his bad attitude with no problems.

Was my vet for 6 years before I moved to the mainland. Wish I could have brought them all with me. They are the most amazing animal people. Made me dogs feel so comfortable. They are the most caring vet in Hawaii. They did so much for my dogs and myself. I would recommend them a million times.

Please understand my sincere feelings concerning this dear vet about the experience I had a few weeks back. This great vet is the best place to bring your pet to compared to most. The doctor was outstandingly kind as well as compassionate. The staff was sweet n pleasant to deal with. Each had a sweet/friendly smile to give you~☺! Everyone there was friendly, n understanding of your pet's situation. They were also understanding about your financial situation on what you could pay for. It was costly just for half of what I needed. With all these good qualities they had,..its very hard to bring out a dissatisfaction. However,..?, ..unless you are an elite somewhere in Princeville, it is very costly to pay. I was told they were a costly vet but I thought most all are costly on Kauai. I recently came from the Big Island, n I thought my vet there was somewhat costly. Yet by a long shot compared to that vet there, Kauai Vet is out of the normal cost range that a regular vet on Kauai here would charge. I don't mean to offend this wonderful vet, they have all what it takes on being the best vet around n they deserve an A+!,...except on their cost. I would zoom back to them if I knew their price was readjusted. They need to truly consider this matter. With good intentions, I'm honestly speaking here.

Staff members are super friendly and very eager to help. Dr. Bethany is an outstanding vet, she was very thorough with explaining my pets condition. She answered my questions with great patience, even when I asked the same questions repeatedly. Thank you for saving my furry friend's life. Eternally grateful to all of you there at KVC.
